I was eagerly anticipating becoming a Halo collar owner, as it appeared to be an excellent tool for ensuring my pet's safety. Regrettably, I had to return the collar due to a highly frustrating activation process and, more alarmingly, the collar caused harm to my dog. For those interested in the specifics of my experience, I will outline the three main issues I encountered while using the collar. 1. The setup process for the collar was exceedingly challenging! The collar failed to activate through the app, prompting me to contact their support center. My initial attempt to resolve this online resulted in a four-day wait. After some investigation, I found their phone number on Google and had to call them twice to successfully activate the collar. There was a glitch in the Halo system that required an order code, and my attempts with the BB code were unsuccessful because BB was not recognized as an authorized seller until recently. After several hours, I finally managed to activate the collar. 2. The most troubling issue, which ultimately led to my decision to return the collar, was the harm it inflicted on my dog. The collar's GPS malfunctioned, mistakenly indicating that my dog was outside the designated area, which caused it to send distressing feedback that frightened and hurt her. This resulted in her trying to pull away from the leash and attempting to escape. Disturbingly, even after I disabled the fence, the collar continued to send harmful feedback to my dog. I had to physically remove the collar to alleviate her discomfort. After this occurred twice, I decided to discontinue the service and return the collar, having used it for only a few days. 3. The final issue involved another frustrating experience with customer service. Prior to activating the collar, I confirmed with customer service that I would receive a refund for my service fee if I returned the collar within the first 30 days. However, customer service is now refusing to issue a refund. Essentially, if you purchase this collar and find it unsatisfactory or ineffective, you will lose the service fee, which is not insignificant, as plans range from $10 to $20 per month. In conclusion, while this collar is intended as a safety tool for your dog, my experience revealed that it caused fear and discomfort for my pet. After using it, I believe the product may do more harm than good. I would advise fellow pet owners to carefully consider the implications before trying this on their cherished companions. My two ESS have been doing so amazing with thier Halo Collar. We have had it for a few months A serious game changer. Our 11 month old girl had been on a long lead for months and it was exhausting, especially in MN winters She has a high hunting drive. The halo collar has been incredible. She can run freely in our yard and be a dog.

I love my Halo collars. I have 3. I love that I can access support in the app for all of my needs. Every single customer support tech I have worked with has been exceptional! The reason I gave only 4 stars is because I have had to make several warranty requests for the collars. I have had these collars for 2 years, maybe a little longer and i have had to have each one replaced at one rime or another for different reasons. This is not a reflection of their staff but more of one for thw product itself. These collara are extremely expensive to have this many issues. HOWEVER, I guess they are this expensive in order to provide the swrvice they do as well as have such an awesome warranty in place. My fear is that if my warranty runs out, what do I do if somwthing happens to my collar again and I have to pay to have it replaced to no fault of my own. Either way, we enjoy them.

We have 3 dogs. We had a frenchie that drowned in our pool on NJ last year. We recently moved to a house on the water in FL and were very concerned. We bought 3 halos collars and they have worked great. Setting up the virtual fence was easy and it has worked great. We’ve had some issue with the collars getting wet at the beach but Halo replaced them pretty quickly. Their online support and service is excellent!

Great collars! We have two and they offer peace of mind regarding our dogs safety. The initial invest was steep, but worth every penny. The Halo team is awesome with help and any issues that arise. Logan was especially wonderful. He was delightful, helpful and quickly took care of our need. I cannot recommend this product more!

We have two Halo collars and love them! They’re very easy to set up and use. They are worth the investment! Our dogs get to run and get all their energy out while being safe! The Halo Dog Park customer service team is top notch! William helped talk me through some tips and tricks as well as starting a warranty claim which took no time!

This is the best product I have bought for a dog. I love it so much I have decided to purchase one for each of my four pets! It not only acts as a barrier but trains your pet to respond to certain commands manually. If my pit bull is hyper focused on chasing something all I have to do is manually select the whistle command and he automatically disengages and returns to my back door. I’ve utilized sport dog shock collars before and they are no comparison in terms of how responsive my dog is to his halo collar.

Quinn at Dog Park Customer Support is excellent. I got most of my questions answered quickly. Need to go out to land to work with Dog Park again on GPS signal strength.

This has worked wonderfully for our dog. Only issue was the training beacon was not in the package and cannot be bought separately.

We love our Halo and our Golden does great when she’s outside with it on. The customer service is outstanding!

Would be 5 starts from me if they included the $40 clicker thing that you can use to help make corrections in training. Otherwise you havs to have your phone in your hand and open to the app to alert the dog in any way. The second you leave the app and come back it has to reconnect to the collar. Those are precious seconds that are lost crucial to making timely corrections.

We were really looking forward to the collar, our dog is an escape artist and we really wanted to be able to locate him and also prevent him from escaping our area. However the screws on our collar consistently kept coming undone even after new pieces were sent. Additionally, our dog gets emergency feedback when he is in our house in the safe zone, but the app shows him outside the safe zone. It is very bad that he gets emergency feedback when he isn’t escaping and just laying inside.

Halo really works training my dogs. i have peace of mind knowing my dogs will not go snywhere.

We needed a product that could track and set limits in our yard for our dog. He likes to dig outside of our gate and this Halo has stopped him every time. I love how easy it is to set up anywhere we travel and I feel confident my dog will stay safe.

Collar is outstanding does a great job , i would and will purchase another one for my other dog

Bought 2 new collars on 11/28/2024, both new collars have faled. 1 providing emergency feedback to one of my dogs while inside. Support replaced both collars with reburbished collars that have both failed and been replaced, I am now 3rd set, 1 of which has already failed and is pending another replacement. I have 1300 dollars invested, buyer beware!!As the Halo limited warranty is one year, i expect that on day 366 i will have to spend more money to replace these units..BestBuy should pull this product. It is unreliable and will impact customer satisfaction and negatively impact Bestbuys brand.

Very hard to properly train the dog. I have spent weeks attempting step by step with no progress. The dog does not like wearing the collar and refuses to even move when the collar is on.

Customer service is fantastic! The Halo Collar is a great product but not very sturdy. I have had multiple replacements collars. Charging port has failed but that has been replaced.

Easily set up boundaries wherever you are. It is expensive and there is a subscription fee, but when my collar randomly stopped working, tech support was great and was amazing customer service.
