Does require neutral which is a drawback of this version. Lots of wires to be connected or capped in the back, makes for a full box.

This allows me to automate activation of my porch light when arriving home, by linking the Lutron app to the Google Home app. Now my porch light comes on automatically after sunset when I am close to home. In addition, the porch light comes on after sunset when someone approaches the porch. This was achieved by linking the Lutron app to my Ring app as well. The flexibility of linking the Lutron app with other apps makes this system very versatile. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this product.

Do I wish their price was a little lower? Yes. But we've had their products for years and keep going back to them because of their track record.

This switch is easy to install and can even be used as part of a three way switch and retain its smart functions. I’m a Lutron fan because they can be trusted to work.

My Xmas lights load was 5.8amps and this switch was uncomfortably hot. There are other switches that are capable of 15A(Wemo). I have my outdoor outlets on a switch in the basement. When is Lutron going to make a switch that can handle 15A?

Posted .Hello Martin, thank you for your feedback. All Lutron devices are very efficient, but they do generate a small amount of heat. This heat is partially dissipated by the metal front of the unit, which acts as a heat sink, and escapes partially through the wall plate. As a result, the wall plate may normally feel very warm when touched if the switch is on.
That being said, we do offer a 15A indoor/outdoor-rated Smart Plug, model PD-15OUT-BL. for higher-amperage loads. See the below spec sheet for more information:
