Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the sound quality and size of the Motion 4" 75-Watt Passive 2-Way Bookshelf Speaker. Many appreciate the speaker's ability to mount on walls and its decent volume. However, customers are negative about the bass response, noting that a subwoofer may be needed to enhance the low-frequency sound. The lack of deep bass is a common concern among users.

I use these speakers as my surround and heights for my theater. Love the style of them and they do sound great. They lack base, but for surrounds/heights its not too important. They have enough to get the job done thats for sure. I plan on upgrading them soon though. I'm going to keep them as heights but not as surrounds. For Height/Atmos, theyre perfect!

These compact satalite speakers are really just that good fir the price. The folded motion tweeter gives you a crisp and airy sound with tons of detail. The sound stage is very large for this size of a speaker the ported mid bass has great low end that match some of the larger speakers in the martin logan range. If you do consider to purchase these get a subwoofer to help with the lower frequencies. These are a must have for anyone getting into speakers I cant give them any higher praise than that.

I love the purity of the ribbon tweeters in the Motion 4 speakers. Since I like to feel the bass, I would only purchase them paired with the Martin Logan Dynamo 8 sub for a medium sized living room setting. The high end is delicate and smooth for acoustic music, but still have a decent edge for harder rock. I wouldn't recommend for hip hop styles with explosive bass energy, but if that's your preferred music genre you probably would be looking at this speaker anyway1

I have the Motion 2's for the surround back speakers so I bought these for the front height, much more detail than I expected which is a nice surprise. A good fit with my Martin Logan ESL's so that is a definite bonus.

Awesome Sound! Blame this on Covid, I have been working from home for the last 5 months and decided to massively improve my home computer sound. I always listen to music while working and being at home, I found my self listening at much louder volume then at the office. Most normal computer speakers do nothing more then provide ok background noise, so I went on a quest to improve my computer Audio. I started with a pair of $100 Bose computer speakers and while a big improvement, I felt there was more. I have been a B&W fan for years and decided I was going to try the small B&W speakers for my desktop. I went to my local Best Buy to give them a listen. I compared them to the small Def Tech's and the MartinLogan's. My heart was set on the B&W's but I kept having having them switch it back to the MartinLogan's. They were so clear and just sounded fantastic for such a small speaker. I ended up purchasing the ML's and have no regrets. I hooked them up to an old H&K AV receiver and bought a Trial subscription to Tidal from Best Buy. The sound is simply amazing. After about of week of listing 8 hours a day they seemed to open up even more with crystal clear highs, but, I did feel they were lacking in base which is to be expected from any speaker this small. I was already in deep so why not go a bit deeper (literally). I bit the Bullitt and added the MartinLogan Dynamo 400 sub. The sub matches perfectly with the speakers and gives great musical non-boomy base. The end result is fantastic. I play the speakers moderately loud because they sound so good and the sound never gets fatiguing even when listen all day. I can't recommend these speakers highly enough.

I absolutely love these speakers. I heard these at the BB Magnolia store and felt in love immediately. Nonetheless i was worried that they wouldn't sound the same in my house (based on previous experiences). But I was extremely happy when I found out that they sound just as incredible in my living room as they did at the store. the tweeter is so perfectly clear and the mids and lows are great as well. I used these speakers as front left/right speakers with a Martin Logan Motion 8i Center channel and Martin Logan Motion 2i as surround speakers WITHOUT a sub and sound effects on movies were still great! I actually took my time finding the right sub since I actually didn't feel a need for the sub with these speakers. I still ended up getting a sub to complete the system but, really, they did very well without the sub. I would Absolutely recommend these speakers to a friend.

Amazing speaker in a relatively small package. These are a step or two larger than computer desktop speakers so keep that in mind. I use these as my computer speakers and they are good enough for some serious listening. The Heil Air motion tweeters disperse sound with crystal clarity. The design has been around for years and it has only gotten better. The glossy piano black finish is a dust magnet and the actual shape of the enclosure can be off-putting to some people. These last points are only cosmetic, the sound is the bottom line. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? To me a yes. You can always take them back but I bet you won't want to.

I love these speakers!!! Wall mounted a pair of these for my L and R channels. They look amazing and sound even better. My room is a bit on the smaller side, but these speakers fill it with sound. The wall mount included in the box gave me enough space for banana plugs without the use of the extender. If you have larger clips and need to use the extender, you might want to find longer screws. Rounded tip 8 x 2 works well if you're using the drywall anchor. I didn't use the extender and went right into a stud so the included screws works perfectly. The included wall mount does not allow for rotation or movement. It is stuck in 1 position. That isn't an issue for me, but some people might want to be able to angle the speaker. The template included makes installing on a wall super easy. I recommend a laser level if you want to make sure left and right are mounted at the same height.

I have these installed as main L/R channels with a Martin Logan center channel, and 2’s as rear surrounds. For movies they are exceptional. They reproduce the clicks and whips of movies like Star Wars and Indiana jones with exceptional clarity and detail. Music in movies (especially horns and strings) sound breathtaking. They are less than excellent for music since they lack deep bass and mid range but for a 5.1 or 7.1 speaker setup where a sub can fill in those missing ranges you’ll love it.

I'm using 8 of these as surround and height channels to match with the ESL-X and ESL-C front stage. I tried them as a 2 channel setup while waiting for the dedicated room to be finished and WOW! As long as you understand they play to 70Hz and aren't expecting crazy levels of bass, these blew me away with the sound stage and clarity. Maybe because I paired the, with a Marantz AV7706 and Emotiva XPA-11 gen 3 amp they exceeded my expectations as I've only ever used AVR's prior. Highly recommend. I purchased them when they were on sale, but feel they are worth the full price if you don't want to wait around.

Nice Speakers, Compliments Front ML Motion SLM-XLs

So far so good. I am using these for surround speakers with ML SLM-XL speakers for LCR speakers. They mounted easily, although it seemed a little tenuous. Just make sure that you have the key well seated in the speaker. Sound seems good, but nothing to compare it to in use. They look good and should compliment the SLM-XLs. These were open box and everything seems to be present and no issues found.

Excellent speakers for the rears. I replaced these for the infinity speakers I have had for 30 years. These Martin Logan do not bother my ears like my old speaker.

We have put these in a few rooms now. They are clear, well balanced speakers, with plenty of detail. You will definitely need a quality subwoofer with them, but that is to be expected with any speaker this size. They easily mount to the wall and look good, but you aren't really sacrificing sound quality for aesthetics.

These suckers sound so good you'll be one happy panda (I assume pandas are happy). The depth of sound, the volume without any distortion, oh it sounds so so nice. Perfect for gaming, movies, or music. They are also aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

I purchased these about a year ago for my front left and right speakers and haven’t stopped smiling yet. They are driven by a Marantz SR6014 receiver and paired with a nice Polk Sub since they are not made to pound out the lower frequencies. . Once the Marantz Audessey room calibration checked out the room and the speakers, the result is simply astounding. Don’t expect these to be a full range speaker, but when you drive them correctly, they are simply beautiful speakers. I have had them setup in 2 completely different room environments and they are simply fantastic. I suspect you do need a really nice amplifier to experience the refined and effortless sound these speakers are capable of.
