Awesome speake!!! Sound test done with XT F100 at best buy against other brands such as B&W and KEF and overall sounded the best to my ears. Now the F200 is a whole other speakers with awesome bass especially the 72 hour break in period. Wish i could of heard SVS Ultra Pinnacle side by side with the F200 cause i would feel like it would be a good comparison to it, however, due to the sound of the AMT tweeters, sensitivity of 92 db and power range of 600 watts, I chose Martin Logan.. More versatile and future proof. Slap a sub or two and your rocking though anything u wanna throw at it!! Whether its movies, tv, or music, its the speakers for you. I did have issues with shipping and terminals was broken so had to return but got the second pair in about 2 weeks time. Second pair was in prestine condition. It also comes with nice covers that you can cover your speakers and still be able to use them with it on and it wont degrade the sound. Great time to buy!! Satin white looks great.

I was considering ESL 11a and XT F200. I found the F200 better for me for several reasons.
1. I don't have much time to sit in the critical listening position required by electrostatics to get the maximum benefit. F200s throw a nice soundstage over a wide listening area. More accommodating, if you will.
2. I also listen to a lot of "big" recordings in a fairly large room and the F200s are able to pressurize the space in a way the 11a's cannot. A trade-off of "airy detail" for "live experience".
One note. The F200s are large speakers and would overwhelm a small space. That said, my wife pushed hard against big tower speakers but the aesthetics and quality of finish of the Martin Logans won her over. The feature prominently in our living space and it's a really good look.

The Martin Logan Motion XT F200 Speakers are among some of the finest speakers made to date. Everything about the speakers scream high end; from the design all the way down to the sound and performance, the F200’s do not disappoint.
Each speaker comes with an accessory box which includes, 4 adjustable feet with 2 different standing options; rubber feet for hard surfaces or pointed for carpet. The metal feet help to stabilize the speakers and let them deliver amazing sound without causing vibration and/ distortion. You can also adjust each individual one to achieve an even elevation with just the turn of the foot, and they’re incredibly functional.
The F200’s are big speakers, and they look beautiful. Standing over 4 feet tall and over a foot wide, they definitely leave an impression in your room. The front of the speaker is made of a black matte finish, and on the sides and back of the speaker is a gloss black finish. The speakers have a Gen 2 folded motion tweeter that delivers crystal clear sound along with a Nomex reinforced Kevlar midrange speaker and 3 – 8” aluminum bass drivers. On the bottom of each speaker, there are downward-firing ports for clear and heavy bass. The speakers have the option to both be bridged and include 2 jumper plates on each speaker. The speakers are compatible with 4, 6 or 8ohm output, so I connected them to my Sonos Amp which supplies enough power to each.
I have to admit, I am a big fan of Martin Logan speakers, I have always found that they deliver amazing quality sound and performance, and the F200’s are no exception. The new Gen 2 Folded motion tweeter combined with the Kevlar midrange - provides such an amazing level of clarity and detail. When listening to music, each note is perfectly distinguishable, and I’m able to hear every detail like never before. Combined with the triple 8” bass drivers, these speakers are able to deliver such a wide range of sound. The bass is what you would come to expect from Martin Logan, its incredibly powerful, yet super smooth. It’s easy to tell these speakers are finely tuned, the bass doesn’t overpower the music or vocals, it works in perfect harmony.
The F200’s perform just as well when watching TV or movies. The clarity of people’s voices sounded so clear, that it sounds like they were standing right in front of me. With the powerful bass, actions scenes came to life, and I was able to feel every explosion. It’s so comforting to know that I can finally start watching movies and shows without having to use the subtitles anymore.
Overall, with the new Motion XT F200 speakers Martin Logan has raised the bar for what tower speakers should sound like. These speakers are incredible both inside and out. They have such a wide range of sound from highs to lows. The new Gen 2 Folded motion tweeter combined with the Kevlar midrange makes everything sound so crystal clear and detailed. The triple 8” drivers provide incredibly powerful, yet smooth bass. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for new speakers.

They sound great but I've had I'm sending another back for a replacement...
The first one I received had a significant dent in the bottom woofer (see pic). The second one I received had a crazy amount of swirls in the lacquer from a really bad polishing job at the factory (see pic). For a speaker of this caliber, this is unacceptable and they're quite heavy to have to box up and lug to a UPS store.

If you are reading this, you most likely already own a pair of Martin Logan’s either entry level or mid range tower/book shelf speakers and you are considering going deep into the audiophile world. And that’s ok so long as you know what you are getting into beforehand. Because this game can get expensive very quickly. But if you love music and movies then you know it’s worth it for your happiness. I personally love music so much that I listen to it every night when I lay down for the night. I also love the watching movies and tv shows in my bedroom with my wife and kids. I have a large master bedroom and while these speakers are very very large, they fit almost perfectly sitting next to my 75 inch tv. Tho I recommend an 85 inch if you care about proportions(look of tv/speaker set-up).
These F200s are visually appealing and high end looking. If you like a dark piano finish then these will fit the bill. Me personally I like them a lot but I have 2 younger children and worry about them getting scratched up easily and also fingerprints and dust will show easily. So keep that in mind. They are also very heavy which shows the quality materials and weight of the drivers but man you will need 2 strong people to lift them and/or move them. They were shipped VIA a freight company and arrived in a pair on a small pallet. I was surprised to say the least. Sound is the main selling point to most but I wanted to mention those previousl comments to help you with this purchase. I have these speakers paired to a Sonos amp rated @ 250watts at 4ohms or 125x2. this is plenty of solid and stable power for anyone. Tho a nice tube amp would be ideal in A perfect world. Martin Logan definitely has their own signature sound and imo I would say it’s a great sounding signature. With deep accurate bass and very rich and solid mid range with a crisp higher end range. I love the mid range and bass 100% the highs are sometimes a bit too high and too sharp for me with certain songs. But that is how a lot of martinlogans sound from my experience. And many love that sound. That’s perfectly fine. I notice while playing music like rock or metal or the like can be a bit harsh for my ears. And less enjoyable. But while playing acoustic music, soul music, R&B, jazz and some hip hop/rap, these will sound beautiful and clean at almost any volume. Bass is perfectly matched with the mid bass driver and tweeter. I’d even argue that the 3 8 inch drivers sound better than my standalone 8 inch powered subwoofer. But if you have a mid to high end 10-12inch powered subwoofer than the built in 3-8inch woofers won’t compete very well. you don’t absolutely need a sub unless you love bass that much. Overall these towers are almost perfect minus what I have previously mentioned(all ears are different tho). While watching movies these work great when the source is mixed with a great soundtrack. Action movies feel like you are in a small theater even if you only have a 2.1 speaker set up. Speech and actor dialogue comes through clear as well. Well suited for movies which was a surprise because most people buy these for their music rooms. Very happy overall with both movies and music.
Speaker feet are very easy to install and adjust. They come with both carpet spikes and tile feet as well and I really appreciate that. My other towers only include the carpet spikes. Martinlogan includes speaker covers too. You will need these if you ever move them To another room or another house. Speaker grills are easy to remove and replace and add a simple touch of style and some protection against someone accidentally damaging the drivers themselves. Great thought and consideration on their part. I definitely recommend if your budget allows and if you have the space to fit them and most importantly, if you have a semi powerful amp with clean power that can handle a 4ohm passive speaker. All in all I am more than happy to own these and I’m sure you will as well.

Speaker took 39 days to be delivered. Found the bottom speaker cover as well as the red side speaker top speaker connection was broken off. Speaker works fine, but being new, sent damaged, and waiting over a month to get it is a one star rating.

I was very excited to try these out because they look amazing and I wanted to put the sound to the test. They are very modern and sleek looking that even the logo on the front of the speakers completes the premium look. The glossy black finish just completes a modern touch to your media room.
You will need two people to help you lift in order to avoid injury and damage to these precious speakers. Keep the size of these speakers in mind for your space. The install is easy enough if you have your wire runs already done. After following the instructions for the break in period, I was able to put these to the test. For reference, I have these to complete a 5.1 setup. The range of sound accuracy and sound clarity makes for beautiful sound to fill your room. Movies like action or drama with intense music pieces makes for great listening pleasure. Music for sure is where these towers shine. Bass sound is crisp enough from the towers alone. Running different sound tests and music found online, my ears are pleased with their detailed accuracy. I only wish to upgrade now to their Martin Logan center speaker to compliment these tower speakers.

Like an earlier reviewer of these speakers, I too had auditioned the ML XT F100s at a local Best Buy. I really enjoyed the MartinLogan sound but thought the F100s seemed to be a bit lacking in their bass expression. Although that specific issue may have been due to the setup in the Magnolia room. Regardless, I subsequently decided to order the Motion XT F200 speakers from Best Buy when they went on sale. I’m not sorry I did! These are definitely audiophile grade.
The quality of their sound from low bass to high treble is fabulous and the soundstage image is outstanding. With a pair of these, one can get completely lost in just about any kind of music you might enjoy. They also perform extremely well as the “mains” in a surround sound set up. But be warned, these do not belong in a small room.
I originally had this speaker pair connected to a high-end Denon AVR in combination with the rest of my 7.2 speaker setup which was very enjoyable. A bit later I purchased an Audiolab 7000a stereo amplifier for connection to the Denon’s “front pre-outputs” and the F200 speakers. Although the main reason for this was to better match to the speakers’ 4-ohm impedance, I expected some small improvements in my stereo music listening experience. I got a lot more than I expected. The mid and higher range instruments became crystal clear and yet a tiny bit more mellow at the same time. Piano and percussion instruments sound amazingly real. Not to mention strings and brass. Audio nirvana!
Yes, these are expensive speakers but well worth it in my opinion. Their sound and finish quality are top tier.
I had no problems with shipping nor the condition of the speakers. They were boxed incredibly well, but do note they come from the warehouse on a pallet with instructions for the delivery folks to not “remove them” from the pallet. So you may need some help getting each of the nearly 100-pound boxes into the house!

I had initially thought to buy a model with somewhat smaller woofers. My major reason for going with ML, after listening at Best Buy’s demo studio, was that the treble on their speakers was really superior to most every other brand I listened to. However, my one concern was that the speakers did seem to not cover bass ranges quite as well, and even with a subwoofer this would only fill the ultra-low frequencies while omitting more traditional bass ranges. At the end of the day, this speaker seemed to fix that problem, providing beautiful coverage of all major frequencies and really sounds exceptional. I haven’t installed a subwoofer yet, though this would certainly enhance the sound even more - an added advantage is that these can be built on over time; I had looked at Definitive Technology speakers with built in subwoofers as a close second, but feel that though this would have gotten the whole package for cheaper, the MLs would offer a better experience ultimately with added subwoofer.
I’m using them almost exclusive for music listening in stereo for now and have paired them with a Marantz PM7000N amplifier which, though only capable of stereo, seems to be a great option if you want to go this route (obviously can be switched for a surround amplifier if desired later).
Highly recommend, though they are obviously pricey and a major purchase.

I was looking to upgrade my home systems with high end speakers and got MartinLogan Motion XT Series 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker with 6.5” Midrange and Triple 8” Bass Drivers model XTF200GB. The speakers were delivered by shipping company in a truck inside the garage on a pallet wooden pallet and we lifted the speakers inside the home. It came with excellent packing. The MartinLogan Motion XT Series speakers have bi-wire and bi-amp terminals, which allow to connect separate amplifiers to the high and low-frequency drivers for improved sound quality. After unboxing, I have connected the speakers with Bi-Wire Speaker Cable with my existing receiver after attaching the rubber feet to the bottom of the speakers. The spikes help to isolate the speakers from the floor, providing better stability and sound quality. I did recalibration of sound in the receiver to get best sound quality from the speakers. I have used my existing center speaker, surround speakers, front and back speakers to pair with MartinLogan speakers.
MartinLogan Motion XT Series 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker has a sleek and modern design that blends well with any decor with a glossy black finish and an elegant, curved shape. The cabinet is made from high-quality materials and features a curved design that reduces diffraction and enhances the overall sound quality. The triple 8” bass drivers are built with aluminum cones and cast polymer baskets, providing excellent rigidity and durability. It stands 48 inches tall and weighs 77 pounds, making it a substantial and sturdy addition to any room.
The XTF200GB model features a 6.5-inch midrange driver and three 8-inch bass drivers. The midrange driver is made of aluminum and uses MartinLogan's patented Folded Motion XT technology to produce clear and detailed sound. The bass drivers are made of aluminum and feature a high excursion design to deliver powerful and accurate bass. It has a frequency response range of 23Hz to 25kHz, which is wider than many other speakers in its class. This means that it can reproduce both deep bass and high-frequency sounds with exceptional accuracy. The speaker has a sensitivity rating of 94dB, which means that it can produce a high level of sound output with relatively low power input. This makes it ideal for use with high-powered amplifiers or home theater receivers. It has an impedance rating of 4 ohms, which means that it requires a powerful amplifier to deliver its full potential. It is not recommended for use with low-powered amplifiers or receivers.
I watched few movies with these speakers and sound quality is outstanding. I was blown away with the details and quality sound came out of these speakers. YouTube and Spotify music output from these speakers are truly mesmerizing. The speaker is designed to deliver exceptional sound quality with a frequency response range of 24 Hz – 25 kHz. The 6.5” midrange driver uses an aluminum cone and a cast polymer basket, which provides excellent accuracy and clarity in the midrange frequencies. The triple 8” bass drivers deliver powerful and accurate bass with minimal distortion. It uses advanced technologies to enhance the overall sound quality. The Folded Motion XT tweeter is a unique technology that uses a pleated diaphragm to provide clear and detailed high-frequency reproduction. The speakers have an adjustable tweeter that can be tilted up or down depending on the listening area.
Overall, the MartinLogan Motion XT Series 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker with 6.5” Midrange and Triple 8” Bass Drivers model XTF200GB is a high-end audio product that delivers exceptional sound quality with advanced technologies and a sleek design. Its sleek and modern design makes it an attractive addition to any home entertainment system, and its wide frequency response range and high sensitivity rating ensure that it can reproduce even the most demanding audio content with exceptional accuracy. However, due to its high impedance rating, it is best suited for use with high-powered amplifiers or receivers. It is a great choice for audiophiles who want the best possible sound quality from their audio system.

I was worried about my first big speaker purchase but that vanished when I hook this boy to my system. R11 meta sounded muffled to my ear and already had PC4000 subwoofer. Much better choice for me since I prefer martin logan's high frequency

The XTF200 sits at the top of Martin Logan’s Motion XT speaker series with three 8” bass drivers setting it apart from the rest. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised with how strong and low they can go, but it’s been a while since I encountered speakers that truly did not need a subwoofer. The thunderous basslines in The Weeknd’s “Starboy” was an eye opening experience, as was the clarity and soulful tone in Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey”. As LR speakers in a home theater setup, they blend in exceptionally well as part of a 7.1 surround setup, offering balanced, lifelike sound with a wide soundstage. It’s hard to find much fault with these speakers outside of being large and heavy, but keep in mind that they’re rated at 4 ohms, so be sure your amp or AVR can handle them before connecting. They’re absolutely terrific in true 2 speaker stereo mode for music, and make an outstanding front stage in a home theater setup. If these are within your realm, I highly recommend them. The build quality and sound are all top notch. There’s a kind of Rolls Royce aura to these speakers, and I love it.
SOUND
Outstanding full range, with a wide and detailed sound stage. You can tell by the three 8” woofers that the XTF200 speakers are serious about bass and they absolutely deliver. Not only is the bass melodic, but in tracks like “Starboy” and “Pray for Me” by the Weeknd, the bass is downright thunderous. I honestly was not expecting that, and those tracks alone demonstrated to me how much these speakers do not need a sub. But bass can be easy. The inarguable star of the show is the gen2 XT folded motion tweeter. It produces sound by essentially squeezing air like an accordian, which is supposed to help smoothen out the high notes while offering a wide dispersion of sound. And it works. The clarity and detail are outstanding, with a wide soundstage reminiscent of horns, but slightly more focused. I went through a diverse library of music in true stereo mode (no sub) and almost kind of fell in love with music again. Everything from Wu-Tang, DPG, Kendrick, Chris Stapleton, Prince, Michael Jackson, Metallica, Ariana Grande, John Fogerty, B.B. King, to Beethovan. No matter what I threw at it, the XTF200’s did not miss a beat, while keeping an impressive level of detail and clarity at even obnoxiously loud levels. Guitars have a certain lifelike detail that’s almost surreal with the soundstage these speakers offer. Which also helps make them great LR speakers in a home theater setup. I have these paired with a Definitive Technology CLR2300 center speaker in a 7.1 surround setup, and they blend in seamlessly together while offering an impressively powerful front soundstage. Beware that these are 4 ohm speakers, so check your amp or AVR’s minimum ohm rating beforehand.
DESIGN
While fairly large tower speakers, the XTF200 balances out their physical presence with an elegant and slightly understated design. The main body is gloss black which transitions to a matte black finish at the front of the speakers. Each driver is outlined with an individual grill that lifts off and magically press fits back in place. Three 8” bass drivers line up from the bottom, leading to a 6.5” midrange and is topped off by a flaring that draws out from the elegant gen2 Folded Motion XT tweeter. It’s almost a little too simple, but finishing touches like the gorgeous adjustable feet and jewel-like speaker posts offer hints that these speakers are on another level. I can’t believe I’m about to write about speaker feet, but there’s 2 genuine bits of engineering here. 1 is the obvious rubber bottom to dampen vibrations on hard flooring. The second is how you adjust the height of the feet by turning the body like a knob from the top. It’s a ton easier to adjust than the conventional bottom design, plus it’s a lot safer, considering these speakers are almost 100 lbs each! Which reminds me, bring another person to help you move, unbox, and set them up. These speakers are very heavy, which is great for sound, but a pain to move. Thankfully, they sound so good, they won’t be moving any time soon.

Only reason why im not giving them 5 stars is because they are very expensive but the sound quality is great. Theres no need for a subwoofer in my opinion. I can bump the volume up really high and never get fatigue.
