Excellent vacuum for small homes!

First let me say I’m a vacuum collector so I am VERY picky when it comes to what machines I collect and use.
This Miele is TINY bit packs a huge punch!!!!!! First impression is that it feels more powerful than the full sized Miele canister I have and that could be due to the smaller bag compartment concentrating the suction but it’s a little beast on hard floors and was pulling in particles about an inch in front of the nozzle into the machine and sucking the nozzle to the floor.
The quality is typical Miele and is built beautifully even though this model is assembled in China using German parts. Miele’s other canisters are built in house in Germany and this one feels just as solid as my other machines.
The turbo nozzle is excellent on area rugs and very low pile but it sucks on regular pile carpet (no pun intended lol). It bogs down on my plush red rug which doesn’t bother me because I know it’s not made for pile that high, my vintage green carpet with low and medium low sections it loves and my mothers carpet is a medium pile and it didn’t really groom it so that will get the power nozzles from other machines. All the other area rings in the house it performed as intended but doesn’t provide any agitation like a power nozzle.
The cord is short! I had to use 3 different plugs to move around the whole house where I only use one central plug with my C3 canister and U1 upright.
This model is fully sealed but doesn’t include a HEPA filter but you do get Miele’s air clean filter which combined with the bag has great filtration as is and is perfect for those that don’t suffer from bad allergies. You can however upgrade to a HEPA filter or the active air clean filter with activated carbon to reduce odors specifically for pet owners since their hair has oils on it that will turn rancid in the bag.
The hose is the most flexible hose I have ever seen on a vacuum! It moves with you without fighting you or being too stiff and has a tiny bit of stretch to it as well. The hand grip has a built in suction relief valve for quick reduction of suck haha! The extension wand however doesn’t feel as smooth as the other wands I have which contain electrical connections for the power heads, it may just need a wipe down with WD40 and a nice buff to smooth things out.
The tools on the C1 do not store inside the machine since it’s a compact model. Instead they store on a “C” shaped caddy that attaches to the base of the hose on the machine end. Included are a crevice tool, upholstery/stair tool and a synthetic bristle dusting brush which seems really stiff compared to the higher end horsehair dusting brush you get with higher end Miele’s so I wouldn’t use it on delicate surfaces. Also included is a horsehair parquet/hard floor brush which is very soft so it won’t scratch delicate floor finishes.
This little guy will be perfect for days that I just want to clean hard floors, above floor dusting and jobs not requiring me to haul around my full sized C3 or S8. The C1 and C1 Turbo Team would be a perfect vacuum for those with limited carpet and lots of hardfloors along with someone that lives in a smaller home, apartment or dorm room.
I would also recommend this to someone that is older and needs a lighter vacuum to use around the house!
So all in all I’m happy with this little fella and I’ll enjoy using it for many years to come.

I have a 1275 square foot house with wood and vinyl floors. The hardwood attachment has substantial soft bristles and glides easily over my wood floors. It appears to be picking up dirt well, although it does not have a feature that indicates when it is picking up dirt (my prior Sears Kenmore vacuum for wood floors lit up when picking up dirt.) It is very lightweight and easy for me to pull around the house. It is also very handy to have the clips on the side of the canister where you can insert the floor attachment to stand up as you are pausing while vacuuming. The cord return works well, and the cord is a decent length. I have to plug in about 4 times to complete my house. If the cord were another 3 to 6 feet longer, it would be nice. The selections of floor type, etc. are intuitive and easy to use--you don't have to spend a long time reading a manual to figure out how to use the vacuum cleaner.
The only reservation I have about the product is durability over time. This is my first experience with this brand, and I have only owned it about a month and a half. If the vacuum cleaner doesn't perform over time, then the features above really don't matter. For now I am giving it 5 stars because it has really good features for the price with it's strongest point being a powerful motor in a lightweight canister vacuum.

I have owned scores of vacuums over the past 50 years, and this is my favorite so far. We have a 2 story townhouse with medium pile, light colored wall to wall carpet. Since we have carpeted stairs I prefer a canister with a powerhead. But all the electrically powered heads we have had over the years eventually wear out after about 2 years. The Achilles heel of these electric power heads is the wiring, which always eventually wears out, causing the powerhead to short out and no longer work. The replacement hoses cost over $100.00, so you may as well just buy a new vacuum. What I love about this Miele C1 Compact Turbo is the turbo powered head, no wires to wear out and short! And believe me, this turbo head does an EXCELLENT job on our carpet! In fact, it actually seems to groom and clean our wall to wall carpet better than any other vacuum we’ve ever had, bar none! And the suction of this Miele vacuum is amazing! I also love the maneuverability of this vacuum and how light weight it is. Its really a pleasure to use! The only thing I would change is to make the cord a few feet longer. This vacuum is a keeper!

I tend to go through vacuums. I have been a Dyson fan for quite a few years but absolutely hated their canister vac. I have heard good things about Miele and liked the idea of the compact size. I am so glad I ordered this. It is easy to maneuver, carry up and down the stairs, fits easily into the closet and is very quiet for a vacuum. I am really pleased and should have bought this instead of the Dyson.

Love my new vacuum cleaner! Is lightweight, much more quiet than my older vacuum, and the suction is so good I don't even need to dial it to the highest setting. Using on wood, tile, and low pile carpeting. So far so good.

Nice compact, light weight, strong suction. However, a little disappointed with the construction of the nozzle head, and maybe the cord can be a little longer. Overall, it is a good vacuum cleaner.

This vacuum cleaner has held up well so far. It’s lightweight, cleans floors very well and does not lose suction. I wish that it worked on carpet with higher pile. My old Miele vacuum cleaner had a powered cleaning head and did an incredible job on carpets. This little guy cleans rugs really well and is awesome on bare floors like wood and tile. It’s also very quiet, which I love, and the swivel head makes it so easy to maneuver under furniture.

This is way better than the Dyson upright it replaced. Way better. I wish I would of went with a canister vac years ago. It's easier on your back. The expert engineering is obvious. It's quiet, has great suction, and is easy too use on carpet or bare floors. Worth the price.

Just the best vacuum!
I can clean the floors under the beds, couch, dresser, any small space, any side of my house it’s easy to clean out with this vacuum. It’s very easy to switch brunches, very light weight, very light noise.
You can adjust it depending on how tall or short you are.
I’m just very happy with this purchase, a bit expensive but it is worth it, even kids (teenagers) love it!

This vacuum is very light weight and has good suction. I think it is best for hardwood floors, dusting, and low pile carpeting. It is also very good for steps. For higher pile carpet, I think a standard brush vacuum with motorized rollers is better.

I have had an Oreck for years and it has been a challenge to find a vacuum cleaner that matches the quality of my Oreck! I found it! This is such a versatile vacuum! I can go from hard wood to carpet with no effort at all. I love the retractable cord too! The attachments are easy to access. The bags are a bit expensive, but they do last and I have 4 dogs to clean up hair after.
GREAT VACUUM!

After reading several reviews for canister vacuums, I decided to purchase this Miele vacuum. While the suction quality of the vacuum was good on both hardwood floor and low pile rugs, I felt that the overall quality of the vacuum felt cheap for a $300+ vacuum. The head which contained the beater brush as well as the other attachments were made of all plastic, including the clips that attach it to the metal pole. It seems like it will only be a matter of time before they crack. Even the metal pole felt cheap and lightweight. I am replacing a 10+ year Hoover vacuum which I paid only a fraction of the price of this one only because the area where you attach the pole to the head cracked and the head no longer stays on. The plastic and metal on my old vacuum felt to be much more substantial and heavy duty. I am debating whether I should just buy a replacement head for the old vacuum and return this Miele because like most other appliances these days, they are not built to stand the test of time.

I was concerned when I bought this. I have a 3500 sqft house and a basement and I thought maybe I should go larger. We mainly have area rugs and wood floor and tile. I used the configuration tool at Miele and it told me to get this. It is absolutely wonderful. Great power. Cleans well. Its light and easy to use. Changing the bag is very easy. Love that it has an indication to when the bags need replaced.

This is the perfect vacuum for our wood, and brick floors. It does well on our area rugs as well. It is super lite weight and very compact, but is powerful. I am 5'11' tall and the length of the hose and handle are perfect so I don't end up hunched over like with pervious vacuums I have had.
