Polk is the best quality for the price which is not crazy. Great sound, I had Cherwin-Vega speakers before which are top of the line but these are just as good and not as pricey.

WOW can you feel the music from these. I’m so impressed by the sound quality without distortion or reverb. I think it is the best investment I’ve made to my sound system.

tweeter not working, I thought it sounded muffled but didn't get to really test it till it was past the return date. I ordered two of them each came from a different store and location and both have that defect. will contact Polk.

I thought I'd be returning these soon after purchasing them, but I was completely surprised.. Using good equipment and cables will bring these speakers to life. Not cheasy a/v receivers.. The demo wasn't functioning at the store I purchased them from so I went into this completely blind and or deaf.. They were pretty bright right out of the box with some upper midrange funk going on as well. After running them in for several days, they've smoothed out nicely. Nice open tweeters, great mids and pretty good bass as well.. Definitely on the colder side of neutral but I like a little sparkle in my music from time to time. The openess of the tweeters makes them sound earily realistic with good recordings. I was shocked and not expecting this. I've owned Polk's in the past and they were always too laid back for my liking.. Not these. Overall sound is really good. They sound great with all genres of music. I'm definitely keeping mine.

I was divided between 4 different options for my main front speakers with an all Klipsch surround system. I wanted Klipsch reference series towers to complete the 7.2 system but they were just out of my reach price wise. I got all the other speakers in the system at deep discounts over the course of the past year, replacing the Jamo speakers I had previously, 1 speaker or pair at a time as I found them but I just couldn't find any deeply discounted deals on the towers so I looked into other brands that were affordable to me but also decent quality to accent the rest of the system. I tried a pair of JBL Studio 570s and they had impressive tweeters and mid high resolution, but that's where they stopped being anything other than mediocre and they were expensive so I returned them because despite several recommendations from self proclaimed "audiophiles" I was far from impressed and actually quite disappointed given the hype around them. I have a mid grade Onkyo AVR that's new and works well with all the other speakers that I've had connected to it, which is quite a few. I had already parted with the Jamo S-809 towers in anticipation of the JBLs, which with the exception of the tweeters sound better than the JBLs, so I was now out a pair of front mains. I had an old pair of JBL Venue Stadiums in my room so I used them temporarily but the cabinets on them have seen a lot of activity over the years so I wasn't inclined to put those out in the entertainment area with all new stuff, however they do still sound very good. They have a single dome tweeter, small midrange, and dual 6.5" drivers and they have always sounded good and these Polk Monitor XT70s have a very similar sound reproduction and configuration with the exception of the 2 8" passive radiators. I can't say they make a big difference because as I said, they do have a similar sound spectrum. They are still fairly new so they're still "running in" so if I notice a big difference within the next few weeks, I'll update this review. They sound good, they are plenty loud and have a 5 year warranty. The reason for 4 star rating is the look of the cabinets and grilles. Although they sound good, they actually look like cheap speakers, they resemble some cheap Dayton Audio T652s I have out in the work area. That's only in looks though, they have superior sound quality compared to the Daytons. I wouldn't call it audiophile grade sound quality by far but much better than the JBLs that I returned with the exception of the tweeters. Those Studio 570s do have some superior sounding tweeters, however I myself am a basshead so I could care less about screeching tweeters and perfect cymbal taps, in fact, too much tweeter actually causes pain in my ears where as bass does not. I have 2 high end 12" subwoofers and a 1500 watt orion amp in my little Rogue and always have them bumping quite hard. Hope this review helps. I would buy them again, I'd try to wait for a better price on them though, I do think $250 each is a little high just based on how plain the cabinets are and how flimsy the grills are. I'd be happy at $175 each or somewhere in that range.

These things blew me away from the first impression! I have these coneccted to my Onkyo TX-NR696, replacing a pair of RTR-1530's. Despite the smaller speaker size vs the old 15" woofers, these crank out the bass! Rock is my go-to but I've also listened to pop, country, edm, dubstep, radio and streaming. I still haven't found something to complain about in the 3 months I've owned them. I'm so happy with the bass, I don't even have the subs kick on while it's in stereo mode. I'm not arrogant enough to talk about mids & highs. They just sound great. These are also the fronts for my surround system. Once again, wow!

I recently got back into home audio. I researched for a very long time. I went and got two of these and i love these. I would definitely purchase them again. I am giving 5 stars because i havent had any issues at all and very easy to set up. I recommend if you want a budget system the polk XT line is amazing for me.

This is my second set. Sold the first with house when I moved. Sound is beautiful. If you can tolerate the size in your media area, I highly recommend these speakers for front L&R. IMHO, sound really makes the experience when watching.

I thoroughly enjoy my new Polk speakers. I had a 26 year old Denon AVR receiver with a Polk RT Series surround sound set up. I was having a hard time making my new TV talk with the speakers. For Christmas I purchased a new Denon AVR. Everything was great until I went to a friends house who had new equipment as well. I had to get the new XT70’s and also picked up some XT20 rears. All I can say is wow.

These are a steal for the price I paid (~$180/speaker) but they are not as good for high end or bass as my R16’s from 25 years ago. Having said that, they’re great for the money. I also upgraded my receiver with a 200W Yamaha which definitely has the power to optimize the sound.
