    I purchased a remote start on sale through Best buy with my total tech membership it came with free install and the t harness required for installation. During the ordering process BB.com would not let me have it delivered to the store or schedule an install appointment. It stated that I must call and schedule with the store. After trying to call the store and only being able to get a hold of the 1-800 customer service I was told to order the service online and schedule an appointment. The only option for the service was to pay almost $170 for a install that was supposed to be free. I scheduled the appointment even though I was supposed to get it for free because I wanted to get this done for my husband while he was out of the country as a surprise. My order arrived and I waited for my appointment date upon arriving the awesome guys at The geek squad install department realized that BB.com had sent me the wrong T-harness required for install. Of course my luck they were out of stock of the one that I needed so I was unable to get it installed the day of my appointment. They ordered the part that I needed with expedited shipping to the store free of charge and returned the install price back to my card because as they agreed it should have been free anyways. They were booked up with installs but they squeezed me in for the day after the item was supposed to arrive. Luckily the item arrived on time and the appointment went flawlessly. It didn't take the full 3 hours they were done in about 45 minutes. Definitely would recommend these guys for installing anything you need for your car.

    I scheduled a remote kit installation that I purchased on Amazon. A CompuStar product. Prior to installation I was informed by your tech that he was prevented from installing the CompuStar product because CompuStar would not warranty it. The equivalent product is 4Xs the price of what I paid on Amazon. (From a reputable seller). I do appreciate your tech‘s knowledge that prevented a complete waste of time. When I’m ready to purchase the product at 4Xs the price I may go to your store. And I will probably go with a Viper since Compustar has already proven themselves. I guess my beef is with CompuStar because they won’t warranty an item they made and sold wholesale to a retailer.

    I purchased a remote starter w/ Geek Squad installation from Best Buy on 1/28 and after picking the item up in the store I called the Geek Squad and made an appointment for 2/18 to have the unit installed Three weeks seemed like a long time to wait, but it is winter and I'm sure the installers were busy. On 2/18 I brought my vehicle and the unit in for installation only to be told that I did not have an appointment and that the store was completely booked and they could not do my installation. They told me that I should have received a confirmation email of my appointment, which I was never told at the time I made the appointment to expect nor that it was needed. They offered a few open morning slots during the following week that I could not attend due to my work schedule and we finally settled on the following Saturday (2/24). The icing on the cake was the Geek Squad personnel admitting that this happens frequently as they are a hub store and that employees have the ability to schedule someone to an incorrect facility, and that they bear the brunt of these mistakes in dealing with angry customers. However, once the service was performed everything went smoothly and quickly, and the system performs admirably. Still, I was very frustrated by the mix up.

    The gentleman that installed my dash kit and automatic start was so awesome I can't remember his name but he was the best he sat with me after he was all done and went over every button I had and allowed me to ask all type of questions he definitely didn't let me leave there confused I thoroughly appreciate all he did for me that day. I will come back for all future purchases

    Made my appointment online very easily. Bestbuy immediately checked my van in and called me when it was done. It was done a LOT quicker than expected (I was extremely grateful for this as I had two small children with me). When I picked the van back up,the tech walked me out to my van, verified all was working correctly, demonstrated how it worked, and explained the various features. Very professional and helpful! Remote start has been working wonderfully, with no issues whatsoever.

    Agent was able to completely install my remote starter before the specified time. Excellent job. Cleaned up. Made sure to walk me through how to use it before I left. This remote starter was a gift bought from Amazon. I moved and couldn't get it installed by my mechanic anymore. No one wanted to install it for me without costing an arm and a leg. Best Buy was able to get me a quote and appointment the first day I walked in there. Great customer service all around.

    Drone Mobile

    We added Drone Mobile to the Compustar remote start system making it very easy to start our car from virtually anywhere. You can monitor many vital car statistics including maintenance intervals, battery condition, trip routes, GPS location, and much more. The only downside is the monthly subscription required, but the basic 5 year plan is affordable over the long run. Look at all the plans to determine which one is the best for you. As of now, the 5 year plans are only offered when you initially sign up with Drone Mobile. If you install the Drone Mobile add-on, you will always know where your car is located (assuming everything is working properly). You can also set speed thresholds and receive alerts when someone is speeding. Warming the car in the winter and cooling it in the summer before we get in to the car has been a lifesaver (Set your temperature controls in advance, when you start your car remotely, your system will turn on.) We highly recommend the Drone Mobile/ Compustar remote start system. You can use the Compustar remote start system independently, Drone Mobile is an add on. Both systems are on sale occasionally throughout the year. We have not had any problems since we installed the systems in our cars

    I purchased a remote starter installation and found out after I drove to geek squad on a Saturday morning and the tech working said that they do not install remote starters that have not been purchased through them. Went back on the website and nowhere does it say that on product features list or product details that this is the case. Called customer service and she said she doesn't make the policies or the websites. Ok. I asked for her to refund the installation then and she informed me that best buy policy is for me to drive back to the store and return an online purchase at the physical store. There is no product to physically return and why wouldn't the tech tell me that I need to return it there before letting me leave?! I bought an unused service and simply want my money back. Incredibly frustrating to waste time and gasoline on a Saturday morning. Will not be shopping at Best Buy again.

    I purchased this remote starter after researching quite a few systems and here are the main reasons I chose Viper. First and foremost, this unit included a Bluetooth app for my phone that could be used to start the vehicle as well as lock and unlock the vehicle. The range is not great but you have an option to upgrade to the better app which has a much longer distance but comes with a monthly fee as well. Anyway, the second reason I purchased the viper is the range on the remote which is over 1 mile, awesome. The one button remote is also small and easy to carry. Although, I have one word of caution, be careful where you keep the remote, I accidentally pressed the remote while it was in my pocket and started my vehicle without trying to do so. The button is sensitive.

    The instillation was great I just wish that I could of received all of the content in the box because I like to keep all of my records on my vehicles I also had to pay for the installation when the package clearly stated that installation was included for free

    I ordered this remote start kit with the installation and I was excited to get this to my car in notorious New England winter. I went to Burlington Mall store and talked with a customer representative after receiving a phone call stating that I need extra part to make the installation possible, a day before my appointment. Essex, was really helpful. He made sure that it was not the case, that I need not to buy any extra part and my Honda Accord 2006 is compatible to the kit I purchased with BestBuy, as the online advertisement stated. I purchased from Amazon an idatastart T-Harness (ADS-THR-HA2) compatible with Compustar part anyway, just in case. I went to the store at 11am for my 11:30am appointment, received by the technician, Mike, warmly. He said the sales person don’t understand, and the T-Harness was not included in the kit, and he might not have the right T-Harness for my car. I gave him the T-Harness I purchased, which shows for Honda 2001+. He seemed happy, and he said he was very happy I brought that, that I was all set and the extra part I provided would make the installation smooth. Three hours later I went back to the store, expecting the installation finished. However, Mike told me he could not install because the T-Harness I provided was defective. I either need to go back and make another appointment afterwards, or he could upgrade for me to a Viper system, which is much better. I did see many online review warning customers that such tricks happened, and I was aware how difficult it was for me to get an appointment for installation. I could not afford to such wasting of my time. I was exhausted for such a torture. And I did not seem to have a choice but rather do whatever I was told. It was Best Buy anyway, a brand we suppose to trust. Mike said if I chose to install Viper, because Computestar is not compatible to my car and Viper is actually a better product, he will finish the installation like a flash. I made sure that I don't have to pay extra, and I trusted that he was sincerely to fix the problem for me. I still believe so as of now. It was another two hours waiting. Finally I got it done, with the price of being sick after waiting almost six hours. I stayed at bed for the weekend, of course I did not use the remote starter then. Then Monday morning (two days ago, and less than two days after the installation), when I tried to use the fob (Model 7616V), no batteries. I was able to use another fob (Model 7857V), for two days or four times. This morning (Wednesday, 11/21/2018, the day before Thanksgiving), it gives me low battery warning and then shut down my car before I was able to get into my car. I charged the fob, and went on shopping for Thanksgiving, when I tried to open my trunk, I found the fob does not work with the trunk. That was the last straw. I don’t think this represent the product quality or service quality of Best Buy, and I don’t know what the situation is. I think Mike is a good person, but thinking back, the whole process does not make sense, and the malfunctioned fobs bought me trouble then convenience. I called customer service and got on hold for almost an hour, and then transferred to this store, and got hung up. I tried online chat, email. The day before Thanksgiving, I spent more than 5 hours and at 7pm, now, I am putting a review here as the last effort. I paid not for wasting my time, but the convenience to my life. I hereby request Best Buy to give me a solution to fix this problem.

    I attempted to schedule installation of a backup camera and remote start, but they only scheduled the backup camera installation. I am handicapped and was worried about scraping my windshield when leaving work. I took my car in and found out that they had only scheduled one of the instructions and there were no more openings until mid-winter so Mike came in on his day off and installed the remote start for me. Talk about above and beyond!

    The Autostart is a great value and really does all it says. The catch is that you HAVE to pay for the T-Harness according to my installing Geek Sauad. I’m really glad I suspected something fishy and offered the T-Harness myself just in case they didn’t have a Toyota harness in stock my hunch was correct.
