It’s been 6 months since we got this cooktop to replace an old GE profile.
On the good side: looks and design are great, it heats everything really fast, it’s very versatile with one very large burner and the square flex burner.
On the not so good side: the beep alarm is not loud enough, the blue LED lights are not as fancy as the pics show, the flex burners are tricky to use and the timer is not easy to use.
On the bad side: the touch sensors are not sensitive enough nor are they accurate enough and make it worse the magnetic knob is not any better. It’s a bit pricey compared to other induction cooktop.

Honestly, this cooktop is not great. It is very sleek and looks nice but the controls on it suck! They're hard to press sometimes, super sensitive sometimes. If you remove a pan from the burner for just 20 seconds, for example, to drain water, the burner turns off automatically. I had high hopes and was hoping some of the other reviews were being over picky but I would choose something else. In fact, I wouldn't choose Samsung appliances at all. Other than our dishwasher, we have been very disappointed by all the Samsung appliances we purchased.

Awesome. Love it. Great safety features if you have small kids. It’s the easiest cooktop I’ve ever had to clean. No hard chemicals or scrappers needed.

Here's a formatted version of your negative review:

I purchased the "Samsung - 36" Induction Cooktop with WiFi and Virtual Flame - Stainless Steel" from Best Buy on January 13, 2024, along with an extra protection plan. Due to my kitchen remodeling, we didn't use it immediately and started using it in mid-February. It worked fine for about a month but unfortunately stopped working on March 18th.
I contacted Best Buy Geek Squad because of the extra protection plan. Their service technician came but couldn't find any problems, so they recommended calling Samsung Service. When Samsung Service came, they identified that the main board and some other units needed replacement. I asked why I couldn't get a new unit, but Samsung doesn't have that policy. I agreed to the replacement, but during the next visit, the technician only brought one part and had to schedule another appointment for the rest. If I had bought this from Sears, they would have handled the replacement differently.
Since March 18th, I've been using a small induction cooktop from Sears, which is working fine. However, each appointment for the Samsung unit requires me to take personal time off from work, and they haven't been punctual. They often cancel appointments the day before or don't stick to the scheduled time. On the fourth visit to fix the unit, I had little faith that they would resolve the issue, especially since they kept missing nuts or screws each time.
I cannot recommend this product or service to anyone. While I understand that electronic parts can fail, the level of service provided is unacceptable. I'm unsure of what to do next.

Induction Great, Touch Controls are Awful

We have been this new house for 15 months and love the idea of Induction Cooking. The flexibility of this unit is commendable. The touch controls however are a constant problem. If something boils over, the controls go berserk. Burners may turn all the way up or turn off. Controls do not always respond, often my wife will have me come to adjust the temperature because it doesn't respond to her fingers. The magnetic knob is worthless. Also, if removing a lid and a drop us water lands near one of the controls, what was on simmer is suddenly at the highest heat setting. We did all Samsung, dbl oven, dishwasher, clothes washer & dryer. This cooktop is our only regret because the controls will not stay in control.

Love this stovetop! It’s easy to use, and looks so good in our newly renovated kitchen. Heats up quickly and easy to clean. Be careful not to get too much water on it as it will turn off from it, clean only with stove top cleaners. Highly recommend! We almost got a smaller size and I’m so glad we stuck with the 36” as we have usually four items at least cooking at the same time. Great design!

We are loving how quick it heats up water to boil. No joke around a minute for water to boil! Can’t get no faster. Very slick design and easy to use and pair with hood vent and to phone.

I really wanted to love this cooktop, but I couldn't get my supposedly "induction ready" cookware to work with it consistently. I had some decent luck with the FlexZone burner, but the others were totally hit or miss. I would recommend that Samsung either include free cookware that they know works, or recommend a very specific set.
I spent most of my summer waiting for a replacement to be delivered and cooking on my much faster propane camping stove.

Melissa, we want you to enjoy cooking using your cooktop. Let us help you.
The Induction Cooking Zones require that you use pots and pans of a minimum size or larger at each location. The inner ring of each Cooking Zone is your guide to the correct minimum pan size.
Please see pages 27 to 28 under the "Using the correct size cookware," "Pot and pan sizes," and "Using suitable induction cookware" sections of the manual for more details.

Very easy and powerful enough for someone who has used gas stoves most of my life. Only knock is that the knob is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough which make dialing in the proper heat setting a bit annoying. Using a finger is a bit better but stuff like this should be refined for such an expensive unit. Best part is how easy it is to clean!

Sigh..... I have a love/hate relationship with this cooktop. I LOVE it -- when it's working correctly. Induction is simply the best and fastest way to cook. Or slowest (if you need something barely warm, it'll do that like magic)! Unfortunately, this one is a little water-sensitive. Your pot bubble over? You might not be able to use it for several seconds to several hours. Moisture somehow works its way inside and causes it to give the "do" error often; so often, in fact that eventually my first one fried. It lasted about five years, though. Importantly, I researched and researched and finally decided to buy the exact same one. In part, I did this because I knew it would fit my granite cut-out exactly, but also because I didn't want to give up all of the great features this one has that none of the alternatives has in one product. I'm being a little more careful with the new one and am very happy with its functioning thus far.

We have an older Samsung induction cooktop in our home, which we love.
This is for a vacation home.
The issue with this one is, like almost all induction cooktops now, it does not have knobs. I have numb fingers, which makes it difficult. While this has one knob it is difficult for me to use. It is magnetic thus making it harder to control.

What I love: induction cooking - simple fast control of temperature. I actually like the blue lights. Flat surface makes it super easy to wipe clean.
What I don't love: slight buzzing/pulsing when cooking at a lower temperature (especially middle burner). Whenever you clean you get a d0 error indicating a short because the touch sensors are very sensitive to water.
What took some time to get used to: Don't try to scroll with your finger, just push where you think the temperature would be. This took me some time to get used to (but now we don't think about it). The dial knob is a cute idea but really useless.
What I hated: I bought this as a bundle with a bespoke hood. The hood is now delayed 4 months. Best Buy customer service pretty useless and just kept saying "this is a samsung problem". Sigh.

Good cooktop, controls need improvement

Nice cooktop, easy to install. I have it for a year now. Works great, good power level.
The controls need improvement. They are not responsive enough or the settings are jumping. When you get used with the nice and smooth touch screen controls of a smart phone, you want the same on this appliance. You need to keep the touch button area dry, otherwise it does not work. The WiFi app is missing features, like to do a remote turn on or off, temperature control or monitoring.
It does have some internal fans, but they are not noisy.
Make sure you treat the glass surface with care, but this would apply for any other similar appliance. Don't drag pots over it, instead lift and replace. Clean up spillovers as soon as you can. If stuff hardens on the glass, I used a very fine steel wool from Home Depot and and I found it to do the magic, it is not scratching the glass and removes the sticky stuff leaving the glass surface nice and smooth.
Overall it a good appliance but Samsung needs to do some improvements for the controls. The magnetic attach button is not really better, so I don't use it. Hello Samsung, would gladly provide some more feedback, please contact me.

Great looking cooktop with plenty of power. Adjusts quickly as all induction cooktops. Even nice heating. Virtual flame is kind of a joke but at least lets you know it's on and approximately how high the "heat" is by the intensity. I would give it a 5 star if the touch controls weren't so "touchy" sometimes it works fairly well, other times it jumps up or down a lot at the slightest touch. If the surface is dirty or has oil/water etc it is only worse, but still wonky even when perfectly clean. The magnet knob is kind of a joke, it is worse than using your finger! But still for the performance to price compaired to others still worth it.

They guaranteed that it would fit in the opening, and it did. It came with everything needed to install it. Very easy install, about 20 minuets total. The only draw back is their virtual knob, that sometimes doesn’t work.

So far my husband and I like the cooktop. It is sleek and a breeze to clean. Though we have pots and pans that are compatible with induction cooking, the front right burner does not recognize the size of a couple of our pots; therefore, we have to move those pots to either the back right burner or the front left flex burner.
We noted other reviews that indicate the units sometimes have problems after about 4 years. We are trying to avoid over heating the elements by using silicone trivets between the pans and the stove top. This works well with the cast iron, but not as well with the stainless steel pots and pans.
