Brought it because of $1 a month deal. The quality of watch videos is OK. But it gets people addicted to games. Good for the older folks who want to learn how to use smartphones. Good stepping stone.

Several times I looked into getting a smart phone, but decided to wait. This was the right time and the right phone. The price was great. It was the best price when I compared. I appreciated the help that I got in store. They transferred my contacts and got me ready to use it. The phone has worked great. Have had it for 5 months and am extremely happy.

Looking for a new smart phone - either an Apple 6 or an inexpensive Samsung. Wow, the Prime Core was everything we needed, simple to see and use features - at only $1/month for 24 months and no 2-year contract. That's right- only $24 total. Amazing!

Bought this phone for my son (his first one) it does everything that he needs to do on it but we have been having problems with it always saying that the Sim card is not found. So I constantly have to restart or pull the battery for it to read the card. Also very little memory space and will have to get him an SD card.

A Very Good Value For An Entry Level Handset

One of the main reasons I wanted to change phones besides the increasing malfunctioning of my iPhone 4s, was to get the heck off of T Mobile's network because it is God-awful, IMO. I'd been wanting to go to Verizon for years now because of their network coverage. Since I am a Straight Talk customer, I can get any phone locked to any carrier and Straight Talk will work, you just need their SIM card. However, since this was more of a necessity-driven purchase, I was on a very tight budget. So I entered the world of entry-level phones with no contract. After a few days of shopping, I came across the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Core Prime on Amazon for under $200 with no contract. Some of the specs aren't eye-popping: 480 x 800 4.5" screen, 5mp camera (2mp front facing) with 720p/30fps video. However, it is one of the very few entry-level phones under $200 that offers a 1.2ghz quad core processor. It seems very snappy, apps load very fast, web pages even faster. I'm loving Verizon's 4G LTE coverage, my speeds were DL 7 Mb/s, UL 2Mb/s with only 2-3 bars. I can't wait to test it in my hometown where T mobile signal is pretty much non-existent, lol...I like the slim look and the metallic-looking bezel. The big screen is a GREAT plus for my text-weary fingers (the 4s was getting pretty cumbersome), even though it's not true HD. It is very bright and clear. The colors are very good. Screen glare is a problem though, as expected in this tier. Phone is almost unreadable in direct sunlight. The battery is also a plus for me. It's 2000mAh, so I can listen to music at work for two hours straight, and have it connected to wifi all day at work with light to moderate use (I'm usually too busy) and still come home with 60-70% battery life. I haven't come close to needing to charge it at night, save for once when I played poker on it all day. Speaking of which, again, the larger screen is very nice and after 3 years of my 4s playing games or viewing web content and general reading have become much more enjoyable, to the point where I feel I have to use my PC at home less and less, since I have this snappy large-screen phone at my disposal. The expandable memory is most welcome after dealing with the proprietary nature of Apple. The on board memory will take around 3.5 gigs and leave you with just under 5 gigs available. I am using a 64GB Samsung Evo class 10 microSD card and have not had any problems. Kit Kat 4.4.4 also comes with the native option to save your apps to SD. It is also one of the only phones in this range that can handle a 128GB SD card. So far it's very fast and fluid; however, I take this with a grain of salt, as most of my phones over the years have felt similar to this out-of-box, only to become buggy and bloated over time. So we shall see on this front... The rear camera is the biggest weak point for me. It's passable, at best but honestly for any real pics I never use phones anyway, when I have our trusty Canon Powershot G15 ready to go. For on-the-go shots of "hey look at this" or selfies, it works fine. The front facing 2MP camera is actually decent. The size is just what I was looking for: not Phablet huge and not iPhone 4s small, just right and fits very easily into any hand or pocket. No gorilla glass protection on the screen however, so for people like me a case is a must (on the way). It comes with Android Kit-Kat (4.4.4) pre-installed with Samsung's TouchWiz UI overlayed. So far I haven't had the urge to root it and get rid of anything, which is surprising. Android has come a long way from the days of 2.2...it's nice to be back. In conclusion it's what I was looking for: A budget phone with some really good hardware, despite some cost-cutting compromises. I think Samsung did a good job offering this as an entry level handset. And with no contract obligations and free reign on Verizon towers for $45 a month unlimited everything (4G speeds up to 3GB per month), you really can't beat it, if you are on a budget, IMO...

I needed a new phone and decided to try Verizon because I have been told that Verizon coverage is better than others in Arizona. After my first month of use, coverage is not better than AT&T in several areas that I have tested in Arizona, California, and Illinois. This is not a high end phone but has all the Android features I wanted. I will probably switch back to AT&T as soon as I can. I was tempted to return it to Best Buy within the 2 week Best Buy return policy but I was traveling in Illinois and not able to get there before the 2 weeks expired. Sorry I waited, now I have to deal with Verizon.
