I recently purchased the Sony Bravia 9 85" TV, and it has been an exceptional addition to my home entertainment setup. The picture quality is absolutely stunning, making movies, TV shows, and video games look incredible. The colors are vibrant, the contrast is sharp, and the overall viewing experience is immersive. The blacks are deep, and blooming is non-existent, enhancing the visual experience even further. Since its delivery in early June, the TV has operated flawlessly without any issues. I highly recommend the Sony Bravia 9 85" for anyone looking for a top-tier television. I attached some photos but even my pro max can’t take photos that show how great this tv looks in person.

Unreal I purchased the Sony Bravia Theater Quad along with the SA-SW5, I read reviews some great and some not so great. I will give you my honest opinion. Its awesome, the real icing on the cake, I paired it with the 85" Sony Bravia 9 the upscaleandpicture and quality alond with stand alonesound is insane. I use the TV as a center channel and the dialect is extremely clear. My ceilings are 8' tall and when Sony made the claim they are bringing Theater home its true. If you want the middle ground in audio file home theater then they over deliver. I was fortunate enough to pickup the speakers from best buy on sale and saved $800.00 shopping during the holidays and signing up for the best buy perks. I recommend this system if you can get a good deal on it. Oh i almost forgot the system works without drop outs and high fidelity music from Tidal sounds better than the reviews I read in my opinion. You wont be disappointed if space and minimal footprint is a factor.

We have really enjoyed the our new 85 inch Sony Bravia 9. Watching sports or movies in our basement is like a trip to the theater or stadium. We hung it ourselves with the Sony Ultra slim wall mount and the set up was a bit time consuming, but the final result is definitely worth it. If I had it to do over again, I might recommend professional installation, but the set up menu was navigable and I genuinely felt a sense of accomplishment when everything was configured. It really was just a matter of following the onscreen direction. We added a Sonos soundbar that we already had and the impact of the sound is impressive. Overall, I’m quite pleased with the purchase and enjoy discovering new settings and capabilities as I continue to explore the features.

Loving the 85 in model mini LED after replacing an older OLED tv (SonyA80j) that had a burn in. We have a bright living room so the native brightness on the tv is amazing without any reflections on the screen. It is amazing for gaming as well - connecting PS5 was a plug and play experience, defaulted to game mode and the responsive times were great. The only Con I have is the lack of 4K 120 hz ports (only 2) where one is used for a sound bar.

Amazing picture and build quality. I got it on open box so hard to comment on value. I wouldn't have paid full price for it though. Don't think it offers enough of an upgrade to one of the cheaper Chinese models. Everything feels substantial including the stand if you use that. I wall mounted. Cable management is heated to routing the cables through the stand feet so a bit annoying on the wall mounting. The TV auto detects the connected devices and advises on how to setup which is nice. This is an awesome miniLED TV that can go toe to toe with OLED juggernauts like the LG G4 or Samsung S95D. Here is how I would rate it in different areas Picture Quality 10/10 Brightness 9/10 Reflection Handling 8/10 TV sound 7.5/10 The only complaint I have is that the TV only has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports , one of which is the eARC port. Although not an issue for me personally, but i can see how this might be a problem for some and to be honest, at this price point, Sony needs to do better.

After waiting for almost a year after i read the press release on the Bravia 9, I finally have one in 85". This is an excellent, well made television and probably the pinnacle of what Lcd is capable of. Very bright and detailed image within is best dusplayed in professional or cinema modes. The Google operating system can be finicky during initial setup, but is easily fixed by a quick reset whuch can be done from the back-lit remote. I have played with the tvs built-in speakers, and find them to be amazing. The volume and clarity is reminiscent of the Sony Wega models back when tv's had real speakers. Wasted feature since my Bravia is being added to a Dolby Atmos home theater. As good as the Bravia 9 is with its bright bold picture, its still probably 94 - 95% of Oled image quality. Regardless, this mini-led looks great and should outlast all oleds without the fear of burn-in or dimming pixels.

I have this TV in a dark room with ceiling lights that dim. The reflection of the lights and the “streaks” from the light are anoying. Take a small pint of light ans drag it across 1/4 of the screen is sub par for Sony

Great TV, very clear picture and easy to use features. Upgraded from a Samsung 65” to this Sony 85”. I don’t know about the sound because I use a Sonos Sound system. Had it mounted by Geeksquad and they did great. I did add an electrical outlet behind the TV for ease of installation.

Stunning picture. Gaming on preferred brightness is amazing. Best Qled tv on the market nuff said.

Coming from an OLED, I don't miss the OLED. There is one small downside to this mini-LED though. With full screen, bright color images, there is vignetting on the sides and top corners of the image. It's not too distracting, but it's there. I guess it's the price you pay to not worry about burn-in. The brightness, colors, and clarity of the image are unmatched. Off-axis viewing is as good as my old Sony OLED too. The sound quality is great for TV speakers, but I'm still using a soundbar.

I've owned this TV for over a month now, and I can say without any hesitation that it's simply an amazing product! For transparency's sake, I'm not one who swaps out my flagship TV frequently, so the one this replaced (another Sony LCD) had some age and miles on it. I went back and forth on whether to get another LCD/LED set or move to OLED, but decided on the former given the TV's position in my living room and our intended use for it. The average person should have no problem putting this against an OLED for picture quality - it's THAT good. The black levels are remarkable for this technology, and I've noticed no blooming - something I was legitimately worried about given my girlfriend's (unfortunate) desire to watch movies with subtitles. The colors are rich and vibrant, and the brightness allows you to practically see the TV from space. I've noticed no issues with motion, either, which used to be one of the drawbacks with the tech. I appreciate Sony allowing the user to turn motion smoothing off and even offering a 'low' setting for a middle ground. The viewing angles were better than I'd anticipated, too, given the fact that LED sets typically offer worse performance in that area compared to OLED. The audio is SUPPOSED to be great, but admittedly I haven't tried it due to using it with a receiver and speakers, instead. The TV looks fantastic across a wide array of content, but REALLY shines with HDR content and 4K discs. I spent the last month gorging myself on horror movies I'd been collecting, and going from B&W movies like Dracula and Psycho to modern stuff like Train to Busan and Longlegs was a treat - this TV made it all SHINE. Any flaws? Well, for me I had lip sync issues watching content via streaming and disc initially, but I was able to get them resolved. Whether it was an issue between my BD player (Sony) or AVR (Onkyo) not wanting to play nice or not, both have delay options that allowed me to fix the problem, so just a heads up there. Also, a lot of people knock the price. Totally understandable, but also totally subjective. The Bravia 9 is definitely not what I'd call a VALUE TV, but I'd definitely say it's worth it given its performance compared to other flagship TV's. Overall, so glad I decided to pull the trigger on this TV. If you're a movie person like I am, it's a no brainer.

This is an excellent TV to watch HDR movies. Its high brightness results in more intense specular highlights and better viewing in well-lit living rooms. Moreover, it provides a well-balanced picture with accurate colors; you may not see the need to calibrate it. With a 2.2.2-channel speaker system, the sound is superb. You may decide not to purchase a sound bar, although I recommend the Sony Theater Quad (HT-A9M2). And, if your choice is to place the TV on a console, rather than mount it on a wall, Sony provides four options to install the included metal feet (two heights and two positions). LG does not provide a base or feet with its 83” G4. However, a base is sold separately. Overall, the LG G4 might be better a TV but, at the time of this review the price of the 83” LG G4 is $1,300 higher than that of the 85” Sony BRAVIA 9. While the LG G4 may provide wider viewing angles, a near-infinite contrast ratio, deeper blacks, and zero blooming, in my view the picture of the LG G4 is not $1,300 better. No TV is perfect; you have to decide what features and characteristics matter the most.
