This thing is a tiny little work horse. I’ve been saving boxes for months to line the bottoms of my garden beds with and I was dreading breaking them all down, but this little cutter made it so easy.

This cutter is very handy. It fits your hand very well and is very easy to use. I have used it to cut paper, wrapping paper, and cardboard. It went easily thorough the paper and wrapping paper. I had to put a little muscle to go through the cardboard. I know the guard is there for protection, but I would like for it to be where you could snap it off to be able to cut bulkier things. That’s why I took off a star.

( See photo)
It cuts carboard good and cut my time down to ¼ to what it usually takea me with scissors. The down side is it jams easily with the thickness of the cardboard. Thats why the 4 instead of 5 stars.

Im a 5'2 female with small hands and I can work the safety button no problem. If you have arthritis or other hand issues this might be an issue for you. My work around to that is use your non dominant hand to press the safety while holding it with the other hand, I have done this myself with no issues. I have one complaint of my charger being defective from the get go, the way they tie it in the box made mine not charge, right where the electric cord was all bent and I had to move it all around for it to get a proper connection. Im going to contact the company to see if they will send me a replacement charging cable and that will tell me how well this company will really honor their warranty. I will come back to let everyone know how they handled the situation. Gotbthis to cut down the endless shipping boxes frim my endless shopping lol so I can fit it in my recycling bin, live it so far.

Works great on most cardboard. It can struggle a bit with some thicker boxes (example in picture) or with boxes that have a thick paper printed overlay, but it will still eventually get the job done with a little effort.

A Trimming Delight That Makes Mundane Tasks Fun!

The WORX - 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors is a versatile tool that makes trimming & cutting a joy. I found that the hassle of cutting cardboard to fit in the recycling bin is now a simple task that I look forward to with ZipSnip. I use it to cut cardboard & those tough plastic packages that fill the retail shelves today. No more fighting those packages & getting cut with the sharp plastic edges as I stab the package with a box cutter or cut it with hand scissors.
Safety was clearly integrated into the design of ZipSnip & was not an after thought. The cutting blade cannot start rotating without pressing & holding the safety release with your thumb. This is a brilliant & most effective design that prevents unintentional activation by a person, or by being bumped in a drawer. An integrated blade guard that keeps fingers away from the rotating blade, enhancing safety even further.
The blade has a self sharpening design, making it always ready to go & reduces the battery power requirement of trying to cut with a dull blade. The 4 Volt built-in Lithium-ion battery charges completely in about 5 hours & will hold the charge for several months.
CONCLUSION:
The ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors is a well designed tool that exceeds my expectations & earns my highest recommendation.

A lightweight handy electric scissors

This 4V ZipSnip cordless electric scissors doses the scissors job. It is light weight and easy to operate with one hand. it has a lock switch like the one in cordless drill drivers, but unlike that it does not switch the direction of the scissors and does not remain permanently on. It will work as long as you keep pressed the on/off switch. Which is I found good safety mechanism.
Cutting speed is medium, and it is good for cardboard, paper, PVC and other think plastic material. The blade is sharp and cutting is smooth. It can be operated with either the left or right hand so good for anyone.
This is a basic scissors and one thing I felt that if there was a mechanism kind of somehow to auto forward while cutting would have been great. One has to push slightly (not too hard) to cut through. It has only one speed. It is very handy for cutting long cardboard pieces straight, you can also cut curved or round on the edges but needs careful cutting.
Overall a lightweight handy electric scissors that does the job efficiently.
Pros:
Light weight
Safety on-off switch
Sharp blade
Good for straight cuts
Cons:
Only single speed
No auto feed for the cutting material

What a Useful Tool!

My spouse and I recycle and in this world of online purchases and deliveries it does not take long for my garage to get over run with cardboard boxes! So when I saw the Worx Zipsnip I could not believe such a tool existed and I didn’t own it! I mean my spouse is always complaining that I “hack and chop” boxes with abandonment and carelessness with old dull box cutters and it was just a matter of time before I cut myself badly…and they are right!
Got the Worx and charges it up. It feels great in the hand and built well. I examined the blade and it has a unique flat hexigonish shape that turns out acts like saw blade teeth but because they are larger it doesn’t feel like a mini saw blade. Which turns out cuts cardboard like butter with minimal effort…It’s amazing how frustration free box cutting has become! It cuts through like a laser into any size you want! Just amazing.
Although I wanted it as primarily a box cutter and if that’s the only thing you use it for…HOME RUN! Worth it just for that… But then I got curious. I zipped through paper, Those hard sealed plastic packages, cardstock and even terry cloth!!! No problems!!! It is quite the versatile little tool that should be a staple in any garage or craft room!
It also self sharpens and has a three year warranty and the charge is supposed to last for months!
Anything a person would snip….the WORX Zip Snip has you covered! You cannot go wrong with this tool! I absolutely love it!

WORX - 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors are a welcome addition to my toolbox. My main motivation for getting these scissors was to easily cut cardboard down. I think that is why most people order them. But wait, it does do more! I put it to the test when hemming some curtains. It cuts fabric beautifully. I also cut a pair of jeans and it was double thickness since it was the pant leg bottom. On the first leg I went too fast and it buched up a little which made me have back track out of the cut. On the second leg, I went slower and it was perfect. It's so nice not to have the jagged scissor cuts through the fabric. It also cuts through paper like a breeze. I used it when wrapping a gift and had one straight cut. I also tried it on 14 GA. soft copper wire, don't recommend that. It's not a saw so it bounced 3 times on it and got 3/4 the way through. I easily bent the wire and it broke off where I needed. That's a good way to dull it quickly, but I wanted to see it's limits. I wouldn't use regular scissors to cut wire that thick, so applying the same rule to the Worx Cordless Electric Scissors is a good rule of thumb. Overall, I'm very happy with it's performance and convenience.

Worx 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors - NICE!

Received my scissors and the first thing I did was charge them overnight. The light on the end is red until fully charged then it turns solid green. I mainly wanted these to start cutting up the many boxes I have for recycling so was excited to try them out.
When I started cutting I wasn't used to holding them properly and it seemed awkward to try and keep the orange side button depressed plus holding in the bottom switch and cut at the same time. Without the button pressed the blade won't spin. I know this is a safety feature and needed but it still seemed difficult for me. But after awhile I finally got the hang of how to hold them which made it a lot easier. I am right handed but not sure how these would work with a left handed person due to the guard placement. My husband tried them with his left hand and couldn't get them to work right. Just something to keep in mind or perhaps he was just holding them wrong.
While I was cutting the boxes I found some of the thicker ones I really had to push hard to make the blade cut through. It did seem easier when I cut along the cardboard lines lengthwise instead of trying to go crossways. However it didn't make much difference at all on thin cardboard. Just breezed along. One thing to note these scissors do not cut through tape well so I avoided that by removing tape and flattening the boxes before starting to cut them. Once in awhile the scissors do seem to jam up and I'd have to tug it off the area and start over. You basically have to be cautious where you cut, how you hold them and the thickness of the cardboard. It will NOT cut cardboard that's too thick to fit inside the guard. The instructions tell you about this.
The battery charger is rather erratic. It seems to work most of the time when I plug it in but then once in awhile I have to wiggle it around before the red charging light comes on. As long as it keeps charging I don't find that an issue. They don't hold a charge all that long though so be prepared to plug them in once you are done unless you only cut up one or two items.
I ordered extra blades as I found teeny nicks already starting on the original blade after cutting about 8 boxes. So as far as the self sharpening not quite sure about that but I still feel the scissors are worth the added expense for their ease of use. I paid $20 for 6 blades.
I then opened up a blister pack and WOW they cut through it perfectly! Finally! No trying to cut that hard plastic open with regular scissors and hurting your fingers in the process. I always dreaded buying ANYTHING in a blister pack but now no more worries! The ZipSnip's get an A+++++ for that feature!
I didn't try cutting any other items such as material, paper or things like that but am sure they should work fine because those items are mostly thin.
I really like these electric/battery scissors. If you use them properly with care they will do their job and nicely too. Since mine are working as they should right now, I can definitely recommend them.
