WORX 800CFM Blower is Top Notch

WORX has a number of great tools available. This tool is their strongest blower, the WORX WG521 800CFM corded blower. The box includes the main blower body, tube attachment, and some paperwork. The blower comes with a manufacturer's 3-year warranty
PROS:
-----------
* Extremely lightweight at ~6.6 lbs.
* There is a ton of force coming out of this machine. WORX states 800CFM which, for this tube, equates to air speeds of up to 135MPH.
* The ON/OFF switch is NOT really a switch, but a dial that's easily rotatable with your thumb. It clicks in the OFF position, but once you roll it up one notch, you're on LOW power (around 70MPH) and you can change the blowing force variably up to it's highest point. There are no LOW/MED/HI levels... it's a smooth control where you can select speeds anywhere in between.
* Cord management is easy to deal with. The mechanism on the plug end allows for an extension cord to run through it so the unit doesn't come unplugged while in use.
* This blower is plugged in, so you'll never run out of juice like a battery unit.
* The airflow comes out BIG, so blowing leaves and debris from your driveway/yard is a cinch.
CONS:
-----------
* I'm unsure of THE best place for the plug outlet, but if it wasn't on the very bottom, this unit could be stored vertically sitting upright on its bottom. I have shown in the picture of it sitting on my counter with the plug protruding out. The only normal way it can be stored is via keyhole hole on the back side or flat on its bottom, long side down. It would be great to be able to be able to stand it upright on its bottom in a tight storage area.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
-----------
* For comparison's sake, I have owned WORX's 600CFM model (WG520) for 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it. These 2 blowers are similar in feel but do have a different look. The 600CFM model has a different air intake shape on the back and also includes an added length to the main tube. (See picture for comparison). I have used both, and both are equally easy to maneuver.
* There is some "air kickback" when the airflow is at full speed, but it's not so bad that it's hard to manage the blower.
* The blower comes in 2 pieces in the box. The tube simply clicks into place onto the motor unit and can also be removed if needed via latch on the side.
CONCLUSION:
=====================
The WG521 blower is perfect for blowing leaves, and even straw if on concrete. It will blow straw ok if on grass, but obviously not as well if on a flat surface. With the ease of changing the variable speed control with your thumb, it's easy to find that perfect blow speed for the job you need done. Having said that, I typically use the highest speed setting most of the time. I love this machine and will be using it a ton like I did my other WORX machine. Now it will be a bit easier than before. Nice product, WORX!

Get Blown Away by This 135mph Blower!

How do you clean up all that grass that makes it on to the driveway and sidewalks after mowing/edgeing? Well, I used to use a broom to sweep some of it off the concrete. This was very ineffective as it took a lot of time and did little. This is an area in which the Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM corded blower comes to the rescue. Using speeds up to 135mph, the Worx TURBINE 800 CFM corded blower had no trouble displacing the grass into the street and off our walkways and/or driveway. What a difference the Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM made!
Despite being corded, a long extension cord will go a long way to blow leaves, grass and even drying off the car after a wash (very effective drying)! Another upside of the being corded is that you won’t run out of battery power or gas. A blower with these kinds of features is absolutely worth having a cord.
The speed wheel for the Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM “rolls” in-between position 1 (70mph) through position 2 (135mph) with just your finger. This allows the "variable rate of speed" to be consistent and constant. The powerful blower is surprising, especially when you use it for the first time. It can be controlled by just one hand, but it has a kick to it (good thing). It weighs only weighs a surprisingly 6.6 lbs! As stated, before you can control it with just one hand/arm. With this kind of power, you don’t need to be really close to the objects you are blowing.
The Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM (blowing up to 800 Cubic Feet per Minute) performs so well because of its inspiration from a jet turbine. The turbine is the reason it is more powerful than battery powered or most gas-powered blowers. With this kind of performance, I don’t mind that it is corded. An additional piece at the end of the blower a “cord retainer” ties up the electrical cord, keeping from getting in the way of the turbine. The Turbine is also relatively quiet at 92dB. I wore ear buds just to be safe when blowing debris (protective eye too).
The Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM comes with a removable rugged directional “Hyper-Stream” nozzle for guiding the air flow. This helps you can control where you want to blow the debris. This is especially nice when (per first example) when blowing grass off the concrete, making things neat and clean looking. Fall time when those leaves need to be raked, the Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM with the directional nozzle will work well to move those leaves into a pile for bagging.
I thought I would test it on a garden flag, to see how much the flag was going to wavier in the wind from the blower. Setting it to the 2nd setting (135mph) and standing around 7 feet back from the flag, I turned on the Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM. The garden flag went from being still and vertical to flying fiercely horizontal. This blower is the real deal. You don’t even have to be close for it to move debris out of your way.
I was very impressed the Worx 12 Amp TURBINE 800 CFM. The powerful blowing speed of 135mph, but also the lower speeds because not all work needs to be done at full blast. I really like the fact it’s corded. This is an advantage over gas (having to refill the blower) and battery (runs out of charge) options. The balance (Front to Back) of the blower allows for the use of one hand to control all that power. All in all, this is a great a tech piece of equipment for many uses.

Light, compact and powerful blower

The Work WG521 blower is a good product to use at home or at a place of business. It’s a corded blower made of hard sturdy plastic, a bit bulky but compact, rated at 12 amps with variable speeds of up to 135 mph and 800 cubic feet per minute according to the manufacturer.
Setting the blower is quick and easy; it requires only one step which is to connect the blowing tube to the machine. Once properly installed, the tube can only be removed by pressing the release button. The short power plug is wide enough to accommodate most outdoor extension cords. There’s a clever plastic extension cord retainer that makes it easier to drag and control the connected extension cord; a minor issue I had with the retainer was to loop the thick heavy duty cord through the narrow opening.
Operating the blower is easy. The handle is well placed making the blower well balanced and comfortable to hold for long periods of time. The power switch also operates as the speed switch; you roll it progressively forward to increase the speed and vice versa. I would rate the noise as medium loud; on several occasions I was able to hold a phone conversation through earphones while using the blower and the people on the other side of the line were able to hear me with no major issues. This blower weighs around 6 pounds and makes blowing leaves and debris a breeze. It is much lighter than the two cordless blowers that I own, and it has more power, making any cleanup task shorter and more comfortable. Having a cord can be a disadvantage in certain conditions but around a house or a business this one would be my preferred blower.
With its light weight, tolerable noise and good amount of power, this blower is ideal for home use and businesses with small to moderate outdoor spaces. Not the best choice for landscaping companies since it’s corded, but it’s comfortable and easy to use and has no need for gas or recharge. Happy with my experience so far.

There aren't many frills when it comes to this Worx Blower, it's made for just one thing, blowing air. The only feature you get is that you can adjust how powerful you need that blown air to be. There's not even that much packaging within the box and really nothing to assemble other than attaching the blower tube. The simplicity of it though is what makes it great. Since all it needs to do is blow air, it does so exceptionally.
It doesn't take long to realize how powerful this blower can be. As soon as I turned it on, while holding it with just one hand, it started pushing my arm back with a lot more force than I was expecting. So far I've used it on my patio, driveway, and to dry off my car after washing it. Any dirt or debris on my patio stood no chance. Water on my car fought back a bit, but not until any big water drops got annihilated into minuscule tiny droplets, and that's with an unwaxed/uncoated surface. Once I get my car ceramic coated this blower should have no problem clearing away any and all moisture. More importantly though, it does an outstanding job blowing water out from within all the nooks and crannies where it would normally seep out after towel drying.
While you may want to have 2 hands on it when at full power, you can easily operate this blower one-handed. The power switch is a scroll wheel type switch that also lets you adjust the strength and is perfectly positioned for your thumb to handle while still holding the blower at whatever the target is. My only complaint though is the wheel is a bit 'rough' and not the smoothest wheel I've ever operated. It honestly feels a bit cheap with the parts used to make the switch.
Another downside I noticed is because of the design of this type of blower, when at full power, you find out quick it's not good to wear loose clothing. The back intake side kept trying to suck my shirt off of me! In a way though that also speaks to how powerful this blower is.
This is a corded unit obviously, so it's not as convenient as a battery powered blower, but at the same time you don't have to worry about recharging any batteries or eventually replacing them. Plus so far I've found the cord doesn't get in the way at all and I love the extra little clip that comes with it to keep your extension cord in place so you don't ever have to deal with pulling the cord off.
As for the noise, blowers are loud, this is no exception, but the nice thing about an electric blower is it's no where near as loud as your typical gas-powered variants. Plus it's at least a smoother sound and not obnoxious in any way.
Overall this has been a great blower so far and one that will see a lot of use around the house, and especially for helping dry off my vehicles. It has plenty of power to handle just about anything I can think of that I'd ever need it for.

I have owned some blowers in my past, some electric, some fuel powered. This blower has surpassed my expectations since I began using it this month. As fall approaches I was getting a little anxious with the amount of leaves and raking I would have to do. Having this blower changed my mind completely. Firstly, the only minorly annoying thing about this blower is that it is not battery powered, but rather its corded... so hauling around an extension cable is to be expected. It even comes with a cord attachment to assure notching comes unplugged by accident. The power that blows from this machine is beyond what I have experience with my past blowers, especially the gas ones. My forearms have been getting a workout keeping it level with the ground since being to use it!
Powering up is a breeze as the thumb dial has only 2 settings. Assembly only requires one piece to be attached too. the tube. The handle is comfortable as older blowers I have used were a bit ridged. Upon firing up, please note that the on button is a dial, not a switch... this was confusing for a whole 10 seconds.
All in all, this blower, is super powerful, easy to assemble and is built well. I would recommend this model to anyone looking to expedite the fun yard work that the seasons bring.

Ever since my neighbor came over one day with his backpack blower to help while I was raking leaves, I’ve wanted one for myself. I have a 10-year-old B&D blower/vac, and while it does a respectable job, it’s showing its age. But I wasn’t too keen on having a combustible engine strapped to my back so close to my ears and it was a bit over my budget. I’ve seen battery powered units but those were even more expensive. So, when I had an opportunity to review this, I thought I’d take a shot. The CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) numbers really didn’t mean a lot to me; I’d seen them before when looking at new units but didn’t really understand how they translated in real life other than figuring, higher was better.
While I was waiting for delivery, I decided to do a little research and see what the average CFM output was for the different types of blowers, from handheld to the big “push-around” units that some contractors use. Most corded electric blowers are in the 200-400 CFM range, while gas powered backpack types run in the 400-850 CFM range. When I realized that the Worx WG521 has the same power as a backpack blower in a handheld form factor, I was pretty excited to try it out.
When it arrived, I initially thought they sent the wrong model; this box seemed way too small for a blower that powerful and way lighter than I expected. But after putting it together and turning it on for the first time I was amazed at the force. There’s a three-position switch on the unit and at level one, it was already outperforming my old blower. I managed to do my front lawn in about half the time it usually takes. And it looked not only clean, but it looked professionally done. It not only moved the leaves, but at the higher speed settings it removed the mats in my lawn and a bit of the thatch as well leaving the lawn spotless and with the grass standing upright as if I had a landscaper do it.
In my back yard, I was able to get around bushes and areas where I would normally have to use a rake and I was able to get everything corralled with less effort and more control. Best of all, I was done quicker and was less tired as a result. With my older blower, I’d really feel it in my arms and shoulders afterwards. With the Worx, I did feel a little more strain in my biceps and forearms immediately afterward (mainly cause you’re really holding this thing back at max speed) but that subsided in 20-30 minutes.
I’m super impressed with the Worx WG521 performance and its solid build quality. I’m no longer envious of those with backpack blowers and actually looking forward to the big leaf fall this year – something I NEVER thought I’d say. It has all of the power of a professional leaf blower without any drawbacks. Surprisingly all that power comes in a package that’s light and easy to handle. I should also mention that the sound level, even at top speed, was astonishingly quiet. Way quieter than a gas blower and even quieter than my old blower.
I’ll keep my old blower around as I am sure there will be some cases when I may need a vacuum/mulcher, but the WG521 is going to be my go tool from now on. I may even let my neighbor with the backpack blower try it out! I highly recommend it based on its performance, build quality and low price.

Powerful and Useful Blower

As the Fall season descends on the Northwest and the leaves drop from the trees, there really is no better time to look at buying a leaf blower to keep the yard tidy for the upcoming holidays. I tried the Worx 12 amp corded blower, which uses a turbine blower to generate air flow from 75mph up to 135mph. Performance wise there’s no complaints, you plug it in and flip the switch and air blows out. Flip the switch more and you get more air to move your leaves or debris off the lawn. There’s only three settings: off, low, and high but the low got the job done and the high more than handled my yard. The nozzle is wide and sturdy, it held up to being fought over by my kids and being dropped when they got tired of it, so I don’t think you’ll need to worry about it breaking like a vacuum cleaner attachment might.
While a corded blower doesn’t mean you have the easiest time clearing your yard, it’s very lightweight and easy to handle given what it’s putting out. There’s a cord clip on the plug so you can manage the extension cord without much trouble, if you don’t want to just hold it out of your own way. The WG521 blower cleared my yard quickly with minimal extra passes over the same spot multiple times, so the job was faster and easier than other blowers I’ve used. Bonus, my kids thought it was cool to yell quotes from James Cameron’s sci-fi masterpiece “Aliens” so they took over to finish the backyard so it’s got that appeal to the younger generation and 80s action movie nerds…whatever that’s worth!
In short, it’s corded so you do have to make sure you have a long enough extension cord and keep track of it as you go along, but the output is terrific. If you need a blower with plenty of air flow this is a great option to consider, it clears your yard quickly and efficiently.

Solid Leaf Blower

I’m very happy with this blower. It’s lightweight, powerful, and not terribly loud. If you don’t mind the cord it’s a solid choice.
I’m using it mainly for the laurel hedges that separate my house and my neighbor’s house that fall into my yard in fairly large quantities during the fall. At the medium and high settings it lifted the leaves off of my wet grass no problem. It’s not lacking in power and while it’s not quiet by any means it’s not excessively loud either with a sound and volume similar to most shop vacs.
The construction is solid and there aren’t any plastic bits hanging out to accidentally break off. The power plug has a nice little clip on it that helps prevent the power cord from being ripped out, which is pretty handy. There’s also a key hole on the bottom that makes it easy to hang up. And at about 6 and a half pounds it’s easy to tote around the yard.
Being a corded blower, you will need a decent outdoor extension cord with 2 prongs.
There’s not much more to say about the WORX WG521. It’s a solid and powerful corded blower that does its job well.

I was hunting for an electric leaf blower with the highest cubic feet of air movement and this was the one I found. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED!! The amount of air this blows is absolutely amazing. Over the 2 different times I have used it so far (filling 50 30-gallon lawn bags) it has moved everything it is pointed at. Dry leaves of course but wet leaves are not a problem for this either. With other leaf blowers I would always have to rake the grass to pull out the wet leaves that had become embedded in the lawn. Not now, this removes all of them. The variable power setting is really nice because in a flower bed you only need/want it on low because it will blow out your mulch if you aren’t careful. Very satisfied so far with this!

My neighbors lawn service throws leaves in my driveway and yard. My Worx 40 viltybattery powered blower is not strong enough to blow them back. I looked at commercial blowers but could not justify the price. I saw this 800cfm electric blower on sale and decided to give it a try. I already have several 50’ 12 gauge extension cords so I did not need to spend any money on cords. All I can say is that this blower is powerful and exactly what I needed. It is not heavy, but be prepared to have to use a little force to offset the reverse thrust.
