You need to peel off the plastic film. Anything blue is plastic!

It is a blue plastic wrap not the color of the oven itself. You can take it off.

Hi Dorita- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for choosing our JES1145SHSS! Many microwaves are now packed with a plastic film applied to the outside of the door and control panel to prevent scratching during shipping. You will need to remove the film before using the microwave. This is a static cling film that should peel off easily. Keep in touch. We are always eager to help. Enjoy!

Dorita, the blue is a protective coating that can be pulled off like a sticker.

It's not Dorita. It is covered by blue shrink wrap that you remove. Even the box says "Why is it blue?".

Yes, mine was aqua color - not true stainless.  Not told at the store about this, I assumed I was buying an all stainless steel one.
