QuestionIs control panel easy to read @ night?1 customer said it's not.

- Answer No its not. The control panel is not back lit. The picture of the microwave is pictured in the add as showing the buttons and numbers. But when plug in the only thing you can only see is the clock. Even when the overhead kitchen light is on i have to strain to see the numbers. Sad but the unit has to go back.

The dish, food or pan should have at least 1" clearance from the walls including the door for proper microwave ability. We're glad you checked with us!

QuestionWill this microwave fit in to a 21" W cabinet when opening the door of microwave?

- Answer Barbra; The microwave measures 20.5" wide with the door open X about 16.5 deep and 12" high. It should fit widthwise in your 21" cabinet. Don't forget you need enough room for the air vents, one of which is on the left side and the other is on the back of the microwave.

QuestionThe microwave gets VERY HOT on the outside top surface of the unit on the right side, above the light, but entire top is hot front to back? (not just where light is) Especially if I am microwaving back to back items at 2-3 minutes each. Is this normal?

- Answer Yes, the hot top on right side is normal because that is where the "nucotron" is located. The instructions tell you to not have anything on top of the oven when it is in use, probably because of the heat which probably will melt chocolates in a box.

QuestionNoise when microwave oven is on.I bought a new GE microwave oven, JES1145HS, a couple of days ago. It makes quite a sound when it's on, unlike the one(GE) I had earlier. Do I have to live with this sound or is there some way to eliminate it?

QuestionIs the matalic paper on the right interior side a part of packaging and removable or permanent fixture of the microwave?

- Answer Hello Radmo - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. The cardboard cover on the right top or side wall of the microwave interior is there by design. The cardboard (mica) covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The microwave should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

QuestionDoes the interior rust/paint start chipping off over time (within 2 years or so)? Does it leave puddle of water inside from the steam when cooking is done?

If properly maintained, you should not expect rust/chipping. To keep your microwave looking like new, we suggest to view the following link for tips on cleaning the interior: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17377 - Also, while there will generally not be a puddle, it is normal to have moisture on the floor or walls of the microwave cavity while cooking, especially if you are microwaving liquids or foods with a high water content (ex. QuestionI have removed all the blue film from the exterior.. I see this yellow sticker on the control panel that says "Remove protective film" Can someone confirm that there is a clear control panel film to be removed. Don't want to end up like this picture.

QuestionWhen i hit the popcorn button it will display 1.75, but will not start. If I push start/ 30 sec button, the display is 1:15. Have not had a good bag of pop corn in 2 months.

- Answer I think Thats the bag size, not time. Try Pushing the popcorn button twice for a larger bag.
