Yes, I have the same model, purchased in Nov. 2016 at Home Depot. Once per week I wash only a couple of small loads. The past two uses, the machine has suddenly started "squealing or screeching" during what seems to be the beginning and end of the spin cycle. Not sure if it's a braking mechanism, a pulley bearing or what, but it is very disappointing to have issues after only 16 months of use. After an "exploding" Samsung, I spent a lot of time researching for a good, dependable machine. I thought Maytag was it, up until now. It would be interesting to know how many others are experiencing this noise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have had ours for 12 months and started it tonight, also now has this horrible squeeling noise while spinning and filling with water. Not sure if this is a problem with Maytag washers, but before finding the results on here for this one, older models of Maytag washers seem to have reports of this high pitched squeeling. Also very disappointed, researched, have not been happy with the results, the detergent left on everything washed, or the water left in the trays after every single load, which are now rusting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No problems so far, but if the machine is on warranty, which I presume it is, why are you not contacting the manufacturer? It would seem that the machine should still be under warranty if you purchased it in September of 2017, and this sounds like something that should be taken care of ASAP
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Purchased washer Nov 2018 and it started making squealing/screeching sounds upon filling about 2 weeks ago. A WONDERFUL trchiniciam was just here and replaced the gear case because it was leaking oil ! He said it wasn’t caused by anything we did but was most likely a faulty part when manufactured. He said we shouldn’t have this problem again, but I’m nervous. Had old Maytag for years with no problem. But did buy this because it had 5 year complete warranty and will probably move before the 4 years, 9 months are up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same problem on a Whirlpool I had for 6 yrs. I had the same issue of the high pitch screeching noise during the spin cycle at the end. A tech looked at it and said there was a loose screw that he can tighten up but its hole is worn out, so it will happen again.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, ours does the same thing after 2 years. I wish the OLD Maytag was still in business. Those Maytag Neptunes ran trouble free for decades. I wonder if this current model will be cost effective to repair. I hate throwing 700.00 away every two years.
