It was pretty easy for me. Either connect/link it to your router with the wps button, or follow the instructions and connect/link it to your router by entering your router's WiFi password. The instructions are pretty clear and simple. I connected mine and had it working within five minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It was not the simplest installation - this I can tell you. I skipped the nighthawk app installation and went straight to the WPS installation because I didn't want to have to initiate the connection over and over and that was my impression with the nighthawk app. With the WPS installation - the directions said (I don't have them here - this was done a remote vacation home) that you should press the WPS button for less than 5 seconds and it will flash. Mine didn't flash. I tried this cycle several times and nothing. finally I reset the unit - flipped the switch on the side - says 'extender or access point' and I flipped it to the opposite it was set to. Finally I did get a flash - it was delayed - be patient - then you press the WPS button on your router to 'sync' the two. Finally when you connect a device to the NETGEAR wifi - you will see on the front of the netgear unit - all the lights are lit up and you are good to go. hope this helps!
