Strange problem new washer new stainless hoses everything fine for a few loads. Then both hoses sprung a leak right in the middle of the hose looks like a burnt cut make. Scratching my head figured had to be defective hoses maybe a contractor cut them by mistake and returned them as new. Ok fine it happens got two new hoses the next day one of the hoses did the exact same thing no idea what could cause this. Looks like a burnt cut in the middle of the braid. Anyone ??? I’m at a loss.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The steel hose is the best better than the cheaper rubber I'm on 15 plus Year no leaks the washer is wore out the hose is still running like the Energizer bunny do your self a favor buy the good hoses have a great day
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The steel braided hoses are the best made to protect your home. Since standard rubber hoses have a tendency to burst the steel braided hoses are recommended. The are rubber inside but braided with steel to prevent them from bursting. You don’t use your washing machine 24/7 so it sits there with the hoses filled with water that is under pressure. In all of my years I have never had an issue with standard rubber hoses, however, there was once that I found a bulge in the hot water hose that could have potentially caused an issue if I had not caught it in time. That is why I insist on the steel braided hoses and always replace the water hoses each time I replace the washer. It does cost a little more but it is worth the investment since if the hot water hose bursts you would have very hot water spraying which could potentially cause harm to you or a loved one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is leaking after 1 1/2 years installed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This exact scenario is happening to us. New LG Tower worked fine first 2 loads then found water on floor. Metal Hose had hole & looked burnt. New metal hose replaced and same thing. This time 2 holes/cuts that look burnt. So far, rubber hose is working but not comfortable at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This answer is from a retired insurance adjuster. Rubber washing machine hoses should be replaced every year. Steel braided washer hoses should be replaced every 5 to 7 years. *Write the install date on the hose using duct tape or label maker. **Also install a "Water Cop" which automatically shuts off main water supply when a leak occurs.....this will save you thousands of dollars.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Rubber hoses can breakdown and cause water damage to walls and floors. The steel hoses are more expensive but could save hundreds of dollars in the future. Steel hoses are much less likely to leak as they age.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only had the machine about a week, but no issues so far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In a couple of the answers it was mentioned that there were burn marks/cuts in the stainless steel hoses. My dryer vent is in the floor so my dryer vent hose flows down and lays against the washer hoses. I had this same problem with burnt looking cuts in the hose which align with the metal rings of the dryer vent hose. I am thinking that the heat from the dryer vent hose burnt through the stainless steel washer hose, maybe that is why they recommend rubber.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, same problem. I bought a new washer in November 2024. My third hose set just started leaking in the middle of the hose just like the previous hoses. I no longer think it is faulty hoses but maybe a stray electric current in the washer or house plumbing?
