I think it depends on what you are using. I have the A8F and Netflix was definitely too dark using the Apple TV. If I was using the built in app I felt DV was just fine and I had no issues. There is an Apple TV fix for Netflix and DV just google that if that is what you are using. This TV is general was quite a bit darker than my LG C8 OLED and I had to play with the settings to improve the brightness. Again I have an A8F not this exact model.
