Q: QuestionTo use TV as center speaker do I just disconnect center surround sound speaker and connect it to TV?

• A:Answer I have the A9G and tried using the TV as my center speaker with my surround sound system. Yes, there are discrete wire connectors on the back of the TV that are used specifically to enable this feature. There is also a setting in the TV sound menu to select the function as well. After doing this on my system I found that there was a slight lag between the TV and the rest of the speakers which created a echo-like delay. I have a Pioneer SC-LX701 Receiver so it's not that I am using an outdated system. I ended up going back to using my original center speaker.

The only difference is, on the A9G, Sony added an Object-based Super Resolution for the Clarity Enhancement and an Auto mode for the Motion Enhancer. • A:Answer To answer you question. The input lag on Sony Oled tvs's aren't great if you are competetively gaming. It's 26 milli-seconds. It does not have HDMI 2.1. Those features are on Sony's LED range. Best option is LG C9 or CX. If you want to wait then check out the Vizio Oled. I hope that helps.

• A:Answer Hi. I've been researching the crap out of the Sony OLEDs trying to find the best fit to replace an old 52" Sony Bravia 1080p. I believe that the a9F from 2018 has the easel, while the updated a9G has a rounded base and sits straight up and down. The 9AG also has the up to date software in order to not be obsolete going forward, if that is important to you.

• A:Answer I am getting excellent quality Dolby Vision on the Sony XBR65A9G coming from an Apple TV 4K box. With both Sony TV and the Apple TV box supporting Dolby Vision, the Apple TV box appears to up-convert all signals to Dolby Vision (even older SD black-and-white streaming media). I find the signal quality much better than the same media processed by a native app on the Sony TV. However, there are several steps necessary to achieve this high quality Dolby Vision. The most important is to connect Apple TV 4K both to the Sony TV using an HDMI 2.1 cable, supporting up to 48 Gbps transfer rate. The Dolby Vision signal involves transfer of much more data. A slower speed HDMI cable cannot properly support such transfers. Also, be sure the Sony TV's External Input channel is set to Enhanced Format (Settings >> Watching TV >> External Inputs >> HDMI Signal Format). On the Apple TV 4K box, make sure Settings >> Video and Audio >> Video - Format is set to 4K Dolby Vision.

• A:Answer no & yes the Sony XBR65A9G is a fully functioning smart TV so it loads just about any streaming app you want. except Apple TV. likely because Android and Apple are competitors. Before we bought the Sony we did all of our streaming on the Apple TV. What we did is have all of the APPS we needed loaded onto the Sony. Then we connected our Apple TV through an A/V receiver via HDMI Arc. works great - just have to change your source, and the remote works with the Apple TV as well.

Q: QuestionI recently purchased the A9G tv and decided not to purchase an auxiliary sound system. That may have been a mistake. Please provide information on your recommended sound system for the A9G. Hopefully something easy to install.

• A:Answer I use the Bose Lifestyle 650 with this tv and with one exception, it works great. I also use the Bose remote to control the tv as well as my sony blue-ray player and my streeming. The one exception on the sound is the intermittent problem with the sound reverting to the tv speakers when I use the Xfinity cable box. The sound problem only occurs intermittently with the cable box, not with any other connections; blue-ray and streaming work fine. (My work around when this problem occurs is to switch my remote’s source to “TV” so the system synchs with the external Bose speakers and then switchback to “cable box” and the sound stays on the external speakers.) The sound is fantastic especially when playing 4k movies!
