I have been using the same drain and there are no issues that I am aware of. The end of the dryer drain tube is several inches of small copper tubing, making it easy to slide it into the existing washer drain along side the normal washer drain tube.

Select method you need. Depending on the drain system you use will determine if a separate hose can be used for the Washer. We would refer you to page 5, "Drain System" in the Use and Care Guide.
