I can't say enough good things about this printer! Setup wasn't terribly difficult, loading paper is easy, the menus are straightforward, and the results from printing are fantastic. Full-color flyers and even intricate details are not lost in printing. It is a little slower than a corporate laser printer, but for the price, can't complain a lot. The toner lasts forever. I'm still on the starter toner, and I have printed 500 full-color flyers with color levels around 80% still. If you want to switch to laser, just do it. Buy this. Go now, don't wait!

Works Great Never going back to Inkjet

Works fine. Set up was easier than I thought downloaded drivers and easy install. We have printed it using our iPhones, Mac book pro 2009, Mac book pro 2015, macbook 2019 and Mac mini 2021. Scans fine. Only complaint is it's a bit noisy when printing. Haven't used it long enough to see how many prints i can get. My kids print their schoolwork wirelessly from their bedroom. Picture quality is pretty good. Printer goes to sleep when it's not being used but wakes up automatically when we send a print. It takes a few seconds depending on what it's printing. Bought it and it went on sale a couple weeks after. I got refunded the difference.

Bought this printer based on reputation of brand and also price. While only a few dozen prints through the printer. It does what I need, print black/color text and images. While the default setting seems to be a bit closer to draft/economy print quality. It does seem to print enough color to get the image quality I wanted with a few tweaks. As for the setup and printing with WiFi. It was not the easiest, but doable. I think many will need to google a few that have made easy write ups (or YouTube) to get this printer running reliably over WiFi and through the app on Android. Or just go super simple and plug in the USB cable and windows will do most of the options for you. Overall its a good budget priced full color printer with many of the better functions of many much higher priced models/brands. Unless you need top notch photo printing. Save yourself some time and headache. Buy a Laser all-in-one machine, even if you don't think you need the scanner/duplex feed/color printing/touch screen. The slightly higher cost for laser and color on day 1 is better than day 120+ when an inkjet is gummed up and won't print. I gave up inkjet years ago and hopefully this new Canon Printer will continue the choice of the superiority that laser has over inkjet.

I just got my printer about an hour ago and I am already completely set up. Set up was a cinch, it could not have been any easier. Following the instructions on the outside of the box helps because it tells you how to properly open the box and lift the printer out. An area of concern that I had to overcome was that my computer does not have a CD Rom to install the drivers, so I created a list of instructions that helped me. They may help you too! Remember to read the enclosed manual step-by-step before proceeding with this part, the part to load the drivers. 1. Open the CONTROL PANEL on your computer. 2. Click on DEVICES & PRINTERS. 3. Click on ADD A DEVICE. 4. You'll see a green bar appear in a dialog box, wait for that bar to get to the right side of that dialog box. 5. Check the box SET AS DEFAULT if this is your only printer. 6. Click on the box that says, PRINT TEST PAGE. This may take a minute or two for the first print. Check the printer for error messages. 7. Close the dialog box. 8. Wait one full minute then click on the FINISH button. 9. Close the PRINTER LIST box by clicking on the "X" on the top right corner. When reading the manual, there are two sections that are in English. The second section starts on Page 27. I am 52 and am fairly knowledgable when it comes to electronics. If you're not comfortable, please reach out to someone that can help you.

Very easy to set up, and it prints fast. The quality is good, and we are able to use it to scan impotent documents. It makes some noise during printing, but not too loud.

For basic printing, setup is a breeze and it prints nice and quick. However, this printer has tons of features, like scan to email and other destinations. It also has features to support multiple users like in an office (or if you want to limit your kids from printing 500 sheets of toner intensive pictures). Overall, I'm very happy with the printer. I was going to get the MF642CDW for $50 more but couldn't find any real/measurable difference between the two, so...here we are!

It's a bit heavy, so suggest a 2nd person to help with lifting. Read other reviews on software setup and always having to use the display to get it to print. Well the fix for that is follow the instructions and have the driver installed and within your print properties make sure the correct draw with paper is selected. Once I actually did that, no more issues and prints great! Highly recommend!

I know Canon makes quality printers, and this one seems to do it all - even color in a laser jet printer. But his isn't the printer I purchased. I purchased the Epson with the econo tanks - and I plan to purchase another Epson in the near future. It was easy to set up and use, print wirelessly over wi-fi - pass through printer, so great for labels. I plan to get the 2nd one and use with sublimation ink.

Very happy with the Canon MF642Cdw Wireless - Color All-in-One Laser Printer! Threw away the last 3 HP inkjet printers (all purchased within the last 3 years) because the jets were constantly clogging, and it was costing me a FORTUNE in ink to try to keep even 1 of them running. Read that Laser Printers with Toner Cartridges were the better solution for the long term, and spent about double my budget - but I LOVE this printer, easy set-up, great prints & copies, and no problems so far. It's large, takes up more space, but I don't even care - it works like a dream!

I like the fact it seems to not waste toner like previous printers I have used. The Initial setup went fairly easy as, given the fact that I use a network based printer. The settings menu seems a little clunky finding the rarely used menu items. The quality seems pretty good at the 300 DPI printing of photos/ I am very pleased with the printer.

Got this laser printer on a Black Friday deal. It arrived quickly and was packed well. It printed my test pages quickly and very clean! Set up was not too bad... until it came time to get it to connect to the laptop wirelessly (My laptops are both 2020 model Lenovos). God help you if you don't have a computer engineering degree. I'm a 32 year old male with a decent sense of technology. I own smart devices and consider myself above average, but not an expert, in the technology world. To get the settings correct inside of the IP address was a nightmare. Seriously, one of the most user unfriendly devices. It is 2020, you should be able to discover a device and connect. Buyer beware of this!! I almost sent the thing back but luckily my buddy, who is in school for computer engineering (literally) got it to work.

I purchased this printer because I was weary of ink jet printer maintenance due to my infrequent print jobs; as most probably know they must be used regularly to avoid clogged jets etc. I set it up via my wireless network and have thus far been pleased with its performance and print quality. It is rather large however, so if space is an issue this may not be the printer for you.

Lousy Manuals, But A Good Printer

If you can get past the lousy documentation on how to set it up, this printer does a great job. Printouts look great, but it’s a bit noisy (my dog goes and hides in the hallway when it prints). There are plenty of YouTube videos on the setup. Just do a search for the Canon MF series. The model numbers may vary, but the setup is the same.
