    Works well but.....

Note: I previously had a Workforce 500 and absolutely loved it! This WF-2830 was purchased at Best Buy in Dublin, CA when my 500 finally failed. The machine does what it is supposed to do very well however it has two major drawbacks. 1) The readout is so small, it requires a magnifying glass to select settings! 2) This Workforce uses a massive amount of ink and $80 a pop for the refill from Epson makes it a very expensive machine to use. A definite step down from my old 500!

    Ink Issues

Bought this to replace my old printer a year ago. Has all the features I was looking for at a good price. After a year I can't say that I am very satisfied. The print quality is only OK. I have been able to use replace ink cartridges other than "genuine Epson ink" until recently. I downloaded the most recent update and now the only ink that it will accept is Epson ink. Ink is costly. Without the ability to shop for ink makes this printer no longer a good option. O do not recommend this printer.

This is one of the worst pieces of technology that ive wasted my money on. 75% of the time, it doesn't work. Always a connection error or says it's out of ink. Even after replacing the ink or reconfiguring the connection. When it does work, it's a bit slow. Also can't seem to figure out how to scan a document in through printer. I have to constantly go through computer. Whenever it fails completely, it's going in the trash.

Nice print quality BUT.....horrible ink capacity

Printer worked well on print quality its just that the print cartridge literally only printed 17 pages of sporadic color & 3 black print letters before they ran out. This is not a good value for a household that prints home school sheets or any business papers, letters, etc. To replace the ink cartridges you are looking at anywhere between $40-100 each time you need to print 20 pages...buyer beware. We decided to cut our losses & go purchase the Epson refillable tank printer model 3760 to replace this one...the refillable printer is a much higher price point but with refillable ink tanks that say they can print as many as 7000 sheets that is more suitable to a multi use household

Decent printer that'll last only 10 pages

Not the worse printer by any means as it can be used either wired or wireless, compatible with both PCs and mobile devices, not too difficult to set up, even comes with copier and scanner functions too, and both usable from the printer itself without using any sort of software on a PC or mobile device. However, one major problem I have with this printer is the ink cartridge capacity. I printed a bunch of paperwork for a new job that I applied for which was about 10 or so pages, and the printer cartridge was already at half its capacity. Even printing the test pages after setting up the printer took 10% of the ink capacity, so I don't know if Epson just packaged some faulty cartridges despite me buying it brand new or if the ink capacity on these cartridges is really that low, and the price for replacement cartridges ranges from $20 to $40 for all colors. You can't inject these cartridges with ink either - the printer software requires you to physically replace the cartridges, and then afterwards, it'll run a test to see if the cartridges were actually replaced. I'd look probably elsewhere for a printer.

If you have a small amount of printing to do, it works fine. The ink cartridges run out very quickly. I've had to change all of the ink after printing less than 100 pages. I just reordered my 3rd set of cartridges for $30. Not very fast printer and sort of flimsy. I do love the double sided feature and wireless printing, even if I'm not at home. Set up wasn't too bad either. Paper jams not a problem and scanning worked well. I'm going to purchase a laser printer and give this Epson to my grandson. You get what you pay for.

I purchased this because I needed a printer that could do 2-sided prints quickly, when my HP printer died on me. Normal print quality is quite poor, actually looks like draft printing when cartridges are nearly empty. The only way to get good readable character printing is to set it on the highest print quality setting.... Which of course uses a lot more ink. Duplex printing is perfect though. This doesn't begin to compare to the quality of my ancient Epson WF-2540 that still prints perfectly on a normal quality setting, just doesn't duplex print.

this thing is a ink HOG, It goes thru ink SO fast and the cartridges are $20 each. The ADF is very tempermental and gets jammed easily if things aren't just so. since its a newer model they don't have the refillable ink cartridges yet so you're stuck with it going thru ink like an ink-aholic. I like the rear paper feeder but I've actually bought another printer and I will sell this one cheap on craigslist or something

I ordered an Epson printer and when I received it, it had two broken parts. I brought the two parts into the store thinking that I could just get two new parts. That was not the case and I was told that I would have to bring the first printer back so that a new printer could be ordered. I feel that you need to change your policy about having items broken in shipping. It was not fault that the parts were broken. It was a real frustrating situation trying to get this problem resolved.

Unless you work in IT or are very good w troubleshooting tech issues(like being able to track code and such to figure out what the issue is), don't buy this printer. Spend a little more and get something more every day user friendly, I've had many printers and this is the worst. I'll never buy Epson again. Going back to HP. **This definitely isn't for you if you plan to use wireless printing, couldn't get it to print via wireless connection, even w the help of my companies IT department.**

I am kind of bummed, I ordered a black one and received white. I don’t have the time to come back to the store and exchange fir a new one. I live out East so not any easy trip. They brought it to my car at curbside, which I appreciated. However, I got home to set up and it was late and you were closed and I am just not happy. This is my second printer because the first one I bought was faulty, so at my wits end with the whole purchase. I’m a realtor and very busy. This whole process has been a disappointment!

Needed an all in one and I do a lot of printing so to save paper I do 2 sided printing. Settings are complicated and I was able to get the back side of the page to print from the top but even with the same setting for duplex tumble the back page is always upside down. I don't like this but guess I'll deal with it since I did not pay much for the printer. Not as user friendly fro a settings aspect as the HP all in one printers I've had in the past. May end up with an HP before too long just for simplicity of use.

This is the worst “inexpensive “ printer I have ever had. Ink runs out too quickly. Can never get it to scan a document. The panel shows trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi however it IS connected and prints fine. Wish I could return it. Willing to spend double to replace it and it’s barely 4 months old.
