I had a classic Samsung watch before buying this Garmin watch. Definitely better option. I wanted a longer battery life. With aod off its 10 days and about 7 days with aod on. I do wish there was a text option when clicking a contact but voice assistant will have to do so i can start a conversation on text. This one does let you custom text so its nice if you already have a conversation going. Voice assistant works with Google or Bixby, i have a Samsung phone. One other thing is the sleep schedule, it could be improved. There should be a option turn on/off as I travel a lot. I have been turning off sleep mode and dnd if i am out during my sleep schedule so it can be a little annoying sometimes. No big issues so far. Im using a previous screen protector on the watch face for now until i purchase a new one. The charger is a usb-c end with the garmin watch end. A little different than i expected, unfortunately it doesnt have wireless charging as i tried doing that with my Samung phone. Overall, I still do recommend the watch for battery life, display, workouts, and phone connectivity. Ive had my watch for 2 months so far, used in Europe and very helpful displaying info. I got this on sale for black friday at $400 compare to the $450.

I had previously owned a Garmin 645 forerunner which finally started to act up after 5 yrs of constant wear and tear. Garmin quietly released this gem of a watch about 2 weeks before my forerunner died. So the upgrades that I have on my Venue 3 is the difference from daylight and dark. Immediately you can see the screen resolution was a huge improvement. Secondly, I noted that the heart rate sensors are more accurate comparing the watch to the heart rate sensors on the gym equipment. Thirdly, by using this Venue 3 as an everyday watch I was looking to minimize the need to look at my phone ( if my phone wasnt in reach). This Venue allows you to look at pictures that ppl send to you along with Ring doorbell footage. It also allows you to respond back to texts and you can talk and text through your watch without having to get a cellphone plan for your watch. I got the big Venue3 instead of the 3s.

I love this watch. I love the body battery. It is much more accurate than my recent Pixel Watch 2 or my Apple Watch 10. These are more geared towards personal health first, phone abilities second. The other watches are phone extensions that can also track some health. You can do all these fitness challenges and exercises without an added cost. Apps can have cost to add, or watch faces but many are free. I am a female with a 6.5" wrist and this watch size is perfect for me. I like a bigger watch face, anything smaller feels like a nickel size and I can't hardly see it. I am someone who wants to switch back and forth from Android and Apple phones because I love technology. This is a good fit for someone like that also, and not having to buy a watch in a specific eco system. Yes the apple message replies don't work because apple locks them to apple devices, but the work around is to use the voice assistance to text when using an apple phone. :) Lastly but another HUGE leap over anyone else - is BATTERY LIFE! I went 6 days and got to 35% in my first week, and you know the first week you use is a ton because you're learning it and playing with features. 6 full DAYS. Tell me if your apple / samsung / pixel watch can do that. The answer is no. I have seen some reviews with people scratching the glass. I got a film screen protector on mine since day 1 because I am clumsy and run into walls and things so I needed the protection, but this thing is holding up amazing.

There was a bit of a learning curve with this watch compared to an Apple watch, Pixel watch, and 2 Samsung watches I've used in the past. However, it only took a couple of days to get used to. After a week of use now, I have been impressed by the various fitness tracking options and the battery life.

I bought for the battery life and fitness trackers after the new Galaxy watch was a huge disappointment. I'm loving it so far. There is a bit of a learning curve but it does all I need as a smartwatch and tracker.

Venu 3 - Great smartwatch for active users

I'm a long-time Apple watch user and I am loving the Garmin Venu 3. It's nicer looking, has a better/larger display and I can wear it 24/7 as it holds a charge for days. The decision points are simple... if you're just looking for the best smartwatch for comms and apps, then the Apple has an edge. But, if you're an active person who plays some sports (almost any sport, I use it for golf and cycling) this is far better than the Apple watch. The cycling function on my Garmin watch was too limiting... the Garmin allows you to customize your data fields and you can see a mirage of data for your activity. All the other lifestyle and health apps on the Garmin are just far far superior, more nuanced, more detail and more intuitive. Screen size is perfect... I have small wrists and it is a big display without looking like I am wearing a clock. N\It's not as thick as other Garmin watches either.

Battery lasts forever, the exercise options are phenomenal, HR, fitness, and stress trackers are great, and the watch looks awesome. I love this watch and if you have an Apple Watch or Samsung watch do yourself a favor and switch over - 10 day+ battery life welcomes you with open arms.

The Garmin Venu 3 GPS has great battery life, and I enjoy not having to charge the watch frequently. I moved away from the apple watch because the battery life is horrible. The watch is also light weight and comfortable and provides excellent exercise performance monitoring. Also, the Garmin Venu 3 GPS is a great looking watch. I highly recommend the watch for those moving away from Apple watch.

Battery life is awesome, lasts for week with always on display turned off. Accuarcy is great with dual band GPS. There are multiple apps to download and responding to texts is not as good as Apple Watch. Best for those who are serious about fitness.

Great watch! Got this for my wife to replace her fitbit and it does everything she would like a smart watch to do. I have an older venu and have loved mine for years. This new one has a better screen, is alightly larger and has abilities to take calls. The one grip i have is that there isn't an easy option for voice to text in responding to a message. Her old fitbit did that with a click of a button. This garmin does not allow you to directly respond to a text via voice but you have to ask your assistant to send a new message to whatever person. Other than that flaw the watch is great so far!

I switched over to a Garmin from using galaxy watches forever. It took a minute to learn to navigate, I found the galaxy watches a little more user friendly. Of course Iove the extended battery life. The sleep recording is very good although as someone who sleeps poorly, it's a little depressing! I am not a runner but I hike, walk, yoga and do gym workouts mostly and the exercise tracking works very well. I use the breath work app a lot as well. Overall, I feel for me it was worth the upgrade to get a Garmin.

I was devoted to Apple Watch, but increasingly grew frustrated that the battery died so quickly. So I decided to roll the dice and I haven’t looked back. I can go on day hikes and still have days worth of battery left. It is durable in water. I’ve gone swimming, ice plunge, and countless showers with no issues. It’s also much more attractive (in my opinion) and can be worn with nicer outfits.

As a long term apple watch user, I added this watch for its long batttery life. In particular, the extended battery life allowed me to wear the battery at night and assess my sleep quality. further, on days when I am outdoors exercising, I am no longer using up my battery life by early evening. The Garmin is a terrific addition and adds a lot of utility that I am unable to access with the battery life on my apple watch.

Even though it's only been a couple weeks, I love all the things this watch can track. It has helped me quantify my poor sleep patterns and I am improving my running by doing intervals. It took a while for to figure out how to use it, but it has been great for me. I only charge it every 3 days or so, but it charges quickly! This is my first watch like this and I couldn't be happier.

I’m a runner and a total gym rat, and I’ve tried a bunch of smartwatches over the years. The Garmin Venu 3? Hands down, my favorite so far. The screen is super crisp, battery life is amazing (over a week!), and it tracks everything—HR, sleep, stress, recovery, you name it. It even gives you a sleep coach. You can take calls, control music, and it actually looks good on your wrist. No LTE and not a ton of apps, but if you care more about performance than flashy features, this watch totally delivers.
