A:AnswerNope. Just plug it in and use it. I know this is a scary purchase. We debated and debated but this charger has been working out great. It was easy to install and it just plugs in and you can use it. It is as advertised. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerIn most cases a regular 20-amp breaker would suffice, as long as you don't have other high-draw devices on the same circu Level 2 chargers can draw 40 amps. So you needa 50 amp breaker. All of these requirements can vary. This Level 2 charger is 40 amps. But l still have it on a 50-amp circuit. For a maximum of 50 amps, you’ll need a wire gauge of 6.
A:AnswerType 2, and depends on your vehicle, I own a Lexus NX 450h+ with a 6.6 onboard charger. If I use the included Type 1 (standard 110 outlet) cable it takes about 12.5 hours to charge. With this Type 2 JuiceBox 40 on a 50 amp circuit, it takes 2.5 hours to fully charge.
A:AnswerIt depends on the electrician and the difficulty (time needed) to install an outlet. Mine was an easy install, and I found an inexpensive self-employed electrician. Ended up costing me about $200 with labor and materials. However, I've seen estimates up to $2,000. So, shop around.
A:AnswerThat is better answered by the specifications for your vehicle make and model. It is compatable with most vehicles using the J1772 connection. It works for my Mustang Mach E. I have had no issues with this charger installed in my garage.
A:Answeryou should contact the manufacture but yes an electrician could cut the cord and connect to a safety switch or disconnect switch that is connected to your main panel.
A:AnswerYes you can. The car controls the amount of amps it pulls from the charger.
For example, if your car only can take 16 amps and you have a charger that can provide 48amps, your car will only demand 16amps from the charger. You can even use the app to change the amount of amp that the charger puts out.
I suggest that you watch this YouTube video about this charger.

I have one and I have no issues with the actual charger. The app is a little weird but it’s not a deal breaker.
