We wanted a TV for a smaller room. This TV had some key features for the price. One of which, Best Buy has incorrectly on their website. The Hisense website lists this as having full-array backlighting. That was one. I also wanted Dolby Vision/HDR10+/etc. I sacrificed one wish. I wanted native 120hz. I realized that we would likely watch fast action on our high-end TV. I am pleasantly surprised that this TV handles high action scenes pretty smoothly. I have played my old XBoxOneX on this TV, and it looks great! I am pleasantly surprised. The Best Buy (Chapel Hill - Cuyahoga Falls, OH) sales person informed me that this TV has a variable refresh rate, so it would actually lower its rate if a particular game was not keeping up with 60Hz. While this is not listed as a spec on Hisense's website, Google AI seems to support this. My experience is that I had tear-free play on my older XBox console, so they are doing something right. FireTV has never been my first choice, but this works well. I have it paired with a Yamaha Receiver, and most apps play well as DD+ (It's not an Atmos receiver). If you use the Plex app, however, there is a common issue with Firestick/FireTV and Plex. The pass-through functionality doesn't work properly. That mean that my 7.1 and uncompressed audio does not pass through, even though it is set to do so. In contrast, this works fine on our Samsung TV. This may not be a problem if you're just using the TV speakers or a soundbar. Fortunately, I can use Plex with the XboxOneX, and this allows TrueHD, DTS-X, and other formats to be passed through to the receiver. ....and that's only one app. In summary, This TV appears to be a good value for the features, and Hisense lists this as having full-array backlighting, in contrast to BestBuy.com. https://www.hisense-usa.com/product-page/televisions-hisense-50-qd6-series-qled-hisense-fire-tv-50qd65nf-hisense

I recently purchased the latest 4K model from Hisense and ran a side-by-side comparison with my older Hisense TV, playing the same BBC documentary on both. The difference was immediately noticeable and quite dramatic. The new model showcases exceptional image clarity, vibrant and accurate colors, and a significantly improved dynamic range. Fine details—like the texture of snow and the feathers of each penguin—are rendered with remarkable sharpness and depth. In contrast, the older model appears noticeably dimmer, with muted colors and loss of detail, especially in darker or brighter areas. The upgraded panel not only supports true 4K resolution but also delivers smoother motion handling and faster response times, making the viewing experience far more immersive. Whether for documentaries, movies, or everyday use, this new Hisense TV offers a premium visual experience that far exceeds its predecessor. Highly recommended for anyone considering an upgrade—this model sets a new standard for value and performance in its class.
