I am giving it 4.5. Upgraded from HD to 4k I'll start with the only negative I have found so far. The night vision isn't as good as I would have liked. It's okay, but wish it was better in low light. Maybe eventually it will be with software updates. The good? The zoom on this thing is amazing. Everything looks so clear in 4k. Daytime vision is amazing. No issues detecting motion. Range of the view is superior. Easy install. I am happy with the purchase.

A couple of months back my family purchased Amazon's Echo Show 21 as we were eager to gain access to Alexa+ and have a large screen that would allow us to easily view our Video Doorbell. While we very much enjoyed using the Echo Show 21, our Nest Doorbell (now owned by Google) was poorly integrated with Amazon and didn't work well with our other Amazon devices. Because Amazon owns Ring, we figured we would have a better experience if we started transitioning over to Ring branded doorbells and cameras. The video on the Ring Outdoor Cam Pro is excellent, but only when viewed from the Ring app. Strangely, the video quality suffers greatly when viewed from either the Amazon Alexa App, or when viewed through the Echo Show 21. My largest complaint is this video quality issue, which hopefully will be corrected someday with software fixes. But, Amazon has a long way to go with making Ring a seamless integration with their Amazon products. The Ring camera links quickly and easily with Amazon products - especially if you already have other Ring products, such as the Ring Doorbell. But, half of the time the user is required to use the Amazon App and half the time the Ring app must be used. I wish customers could stick with just one or the other. Also frustrating is that at the current time (while Alexa+ is still in beta), Alexa is not able to change any app or device settings. Part of the reason we wanted access to an AI version of Alexa is so that she could change settings in response to a simple verbal request. But, most of the time she responds by stating that she is not able to change device settings and that we need to access the Alexa, or sometimes Ring app. Mounting the camera is a breeze and there are several simple orientation options. Thankfully, the camera pivots nicely on the mount so the angle can be adjusted after mounting. The microphone and speakers work well, so you can actually talk through the camera almost like an intercom (using an Echo device from inside the house - even if you cannot access the video). Setting up boundaries and notifications is also fairly simple and I appreciate the addition of AI notes in the notifications. For example, the notification wont just say, "Someone in the driveway". You can now get a notification that says, "Three people with a brown dog in the driveway." A simple change that is quite useful. Alexa+ is also able to respond to certain questions about what is in the video. I wish the physical size of the camera was a bit smaller. My personal opinion is that ring devices have always had a rather clunky and ugly form factor. The newest version of the doorbell is finally sleek and slim, but the Outdoor Cam Pro still seems unnecessarily bulky. Hopefully someday soon they reduce the size closer to that of the doorbell. Overall though, a great camera that works well day or night. If you have Amazon products already in your house (speakers, doorbells, etc) this camera will pair fairly seamlessly with all of them.

I am extremely pleased with this camera as part of my setup! I have it monitoring my side yard and shed, and it is honestly doing a fantastic job with excellent angles and brilliant, clear images! Setting up, as with every other Ring product I have installed (which is over two dozen now, between sensors, cameras, and related products), was very easy. Connection is incredibly stable over Wi-Fi and I the visual image is crisp and lovely to behold whether it is day or night vision being used. Now for the quirks. You should just know that while this does use a USB-C plug, it requires about a 20-watt power supply, which is built into the cord. This works fine for my application, but some people might be disappointed that they can’t use a usual USB-C cable and plug into power the device. Furthermore, there is no battery backup and related feasible solar powering for this; a direct AC plug-in seems to be the way to go. While I have no problem with this in my application, I just want others to be aware of what they are getting into here. Altogether, this camera gets a solid 5/5 stars for my Ring Security setup! I would highly recommend you check it out!
