I bought this because I was getting extremely low on hard drive space on my console. It was extremely easy to install, plug and play, after a quick format I moved my games from my internal hard drive to this external one and it was foolproof everything went very smooth but just to be safe and to make sure no data got corrupted or artifacts were loss I went ahead and formatted it once again and done a fresh install of all my games. Once I updated everything I started to play a few games and everything loaded so much faster with this compared to the internal hard drive gameplay also seemed to be more responsive as there were no glitches at all like I have had a problem with before. I have the Xbox One S instead of the X like I want but I can't complain because it was given to me for free. If you are looking for extra space and more speed I highly recommend this product for you, I'm not sure if it will make a difference on an X model but it surely did for me on my S model. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Bought the Seagate external hard drive as the Series S after setup has a measly 364gb of available storage. It's simple plug in and format and ready to use within minutes. Now you must remember that newer Series X/S games and those that received upgrades cannot be played off the external drive. There are a few exceptions to this though. I have alot of older Xbox One games so I store those and the newer games I don't play regularly on the external. It matches the Series S perfectly and comes with a nice high quality braided cable that is 18 inches in length. Transfer and download times are decent. It can't match the internal SSD or the expansion card but it's not supposed to. If the expansion card was not $200 for only 1tb I may have bought that instead but having 2tb gives me plenty of room to have the majority of my games downloaded.

Bought this drive for my Xbox 360 and I must say this one is great. My Xbox 360 drive before was full and after transferring all the data I still have tons of space left. It picks up the games rather quickly and have had no problems with it.

The hard drive is working great two years later. I’ve had no problems and plenty of storage space for extra games. I leave this hard drive plugged in to my Xbox one X.

Works great. Needed the extra space with all the big updates for COD.
A:We unplug ours all the time to transfer between consoles. Just be sure to completely power off your xbone before you unplug it and before plugging it in
A:You can delete/erase the content on the Internal Hard Drive but this is a settings feature. This has nothing to do with the XBox External drive. Adding the external drive itself doesn't erase content on the main drive, Hope this helps.
A:External HDs work with the next gen. consoles, but most games that are optimized for the Series S/X can only be played from the internal HD or their proprietary Seagate expandable HD they sell for $220 that plugs into the port on the back. If you have a game that's optimized for next gen. it will simply not do anything when you click on it to play it if it is existing only on this external HD. The work around is simply moving the next gen. optimized games you want to play to the internal HD when you are wanting to play them, and then back to the external HD when you are just needing them stored and free up space on the internal HD.
