The last few winters have been rough in regards to dry air. As the air would get dryer, sleeping became problematic as the dryness affected our breathing. We also had dry skin too. Last year, I picked up a generic cheap air humidifier; and while it did moisten the air, it required distilled water or our HEPA filter readings would go off the charts for pollution/particulates. Even with distilled water, our readings would elevate a bit as all it did was pump out some cool mist with no filtration or air quality controls.
This year I decided to give the Blueair H35i a try as I needed to address several concerns. Most pressing was cleaner mist production followed by valid smart controls and real data feedback and lastly being able to use tap water to save on costs.
Setup is very straight forward. All you do is download the app, set it up, turn on the unit, have your phone's Bluetooth find your H35i, pair, configure and off you go. The manual has a QR code to point you right to the app you need and provides very clear, concise instructions.
One thing I really like is the way to refill your H35i. You can literally carefully pour it right through the top grills if you wish or easily lift off the one piece top, pop the filter out and the bottom has an easy to use flip up handle to carry the basin to your sink and fill it that way if you so like.
The display is large and bright with a lot of good info and the smart app keeps you informed about filter condition, humidity levels and more. You can set it to auto settings or manually set everything including fan controls. You can adjust your desired level of humidity with 30%-50% being ideal. When I first turned it on and it ran for a few minutes it let me know my humidity level was ~25% which made sense as the air has been painfully dry the last week or so. Within a few hours (if that), our modest domicile (~1600sqft) had climbed from ~25% to 41% at last check and I can already feel the difference in the air.
It is just a very straight forward setup and use and miles ahead of the bargain bin model we tried to use last year that ended up costing us more in the long run as we had to keep filling it up with distilled water. My other HEPA filter which reads air quality has remained at a solid *0* (which means near perfect) even as the air has become much more comfortable and moisturized with the H35i.
The H35i does use a filter replacement system so when needing replacing, replacement filters are about $20USD. Replacement intervals will vary based on settings, air conditions and desired humidity.
No product is perfect though. I wish the power adapter was universal versus a barrel connector and came with a much longer power cord for placement. Another complaint would be the need to connect your H35i to wifi even if all you want to do is interface with it via Bluetooth only. My last complaint is you need to create an account with Blueair to use their app.
Besides these three complaints, this is a substantial upgrade over the one we used last year and is priced well enough. If you need to increase your humidity levels, this is a solid choice.

Keeps my teenager's room humidified

The Blueair Invisible Mist 0.9 gallon Evaporative Premium Smart Top-Fill Humidifier comes with one replaceable wick filter installed, one water pump sponge filter installed, plus one additional water pump sponge filter. While you can use the humidifier without the app, to get the most from the unit, you will probably want to install the Blueair app. There is a QR code to access the app on page 10 of the included instructions.
Set up was pretty straight forward and the instructions are good. I downloaded the app and set up an account. Then I followed the instructions to pair with the humidifier. Once paired I followed the instructions to add it to my Wi-Fi network. (I’m a little paranoid so it is on the IOT segment of my network.) Note the instructions advise that the humidifier will only connect to a 2.4GHz network.
One of the nice features is that you can refill the unit through the top without taking it apart. Just pour water down through the top grill, avoiding the display. If you really want to take it apart to refill it, the water tank has a flip up handle to carry it like a bucket.
There are instructions for weekly cleaning that include washing the replaceable wick filter in a mild citric acid solution. The app also has an indicator for how much life is left in the replaceable wick filter. The one thing that concerns me about the wick filter (estimated life is 6 months) is the cost of the replacement filters. I found them available on the Blueair website. Buying with a subscription rather than individually when you need one saves $3 off the price of each filter. But I’m not a fan of subscriptions, so I will need to consider that $3 difference.
This review isn’t about the app. The humidifier works just fine without it. But the app lets you access things besides the regular settings like setting a schedule, monitoring graphical history of the humidity level, monitoring the remaining useful life of the wick filter and the current temperature (where the unit is).
In summary, after a week of use, it seems to be keeping my teenager’s room at a constant humidity level. It’s easy to set up, easy to use and not too tough to clean and maintain.

My house gets pretty dry in the wintertime and requires us to have a few humidifiers. This one is pretty nice as its pretty small but holds about a gallon of water. I set the level to 50% and have it in the bedroom. It usually lasts about 24 hours before it needs to be refilled. Refilling this humidifier is by far the easiest one I have ever had. All you have to do is turn off the unit and pour the water through the grates on top to refill the tank at the bottom. Then power it back on and you're all set for another 24 hours. I also like the built-in filter as it removes the impurities in the water that cause the white dust that other humidifiers give off.
The app is very nice as it allows you to make any adjustments to the machine and gives you humidity data for the day, week, and month. This information is nice to have but not really sure what to do with it. The app will also notify you if the humidifier runs out of water.
The only issue I have had with the unit is sometimes after refilling it still registers as empty. This just requires turning it back off and waiting a few seconds and turning it back on. Not a huge issue, just not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
Overall this is a nice humidifier and runs very quietly with invisible mist. Having this in my bedroom has been a game changer with the quality of my sleep.

----- SUMMARY -----
Verdict:
The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier has been a fantastic addition to my daughter's room, and I highly recommend it to other parents, especially those with small to medium-sized rooms. It effectively combats dryness without any of the downsides I've experienced with other humidifiers, like white dust or noisy operation. I get about 48 hours of runtime before needing to refill the tank, which is plenty for my needs. The top-fill design, dishwasher-safe tank, and child lock make it incredibly practical for families with young children. And with the added convenience of the Blueair app, I can easily monitor and control the humidity levels from anywhere. If you're looking for a safe, effective, and user-friendly humidifier, the Blueair InvisibleMist is a top-notch choice.
Pros:
- Effective humidification
- Quiet operation
- Safe and child-friendly
- Easy to use and maintain
- Convenient app control
- Stylish design
- Good runtime
Cons:
- Not ideal for large spaces
----- DETAILS -----
Design & Build Quality:
Living in Phoenix with a toddler means I need a humidifier that's both effective and safe. The Blueair InvisibleMist checks both boxes. Its compact, round design with a smooth, matte white finish blends seamlessly into her bedroom. It's ideal for small to medium-sized rooms, and while it might not humidify an entire floor, it's perfect for her space. The build quality is solid. It feels sturdy and well-made. But what I appreciate most is the top-fill design. It not only makes refilling incredibly easy – I just pour water through the grated opening – but it also keeps the water tank safely out of my little one's reach. Plus, the quiet operation means no more bubbling and dripping noises disrupting naptime. As a busy parent, I also love that the tank is dishwasher-safe. After removing the top portion with the electrical components, I can just pop the tank in the dishwasher for hassle-free cleaning. This humidifier is a real win for both design and practicality.
Features:
What sets this humidifier apart is its InvisibleMist Technology. I used to have a real problem with white dust from my old humidifier, but with the InvisibleMist, I haven't noticed any residue at all, even after weeks of use. It uses a special filter to trap impurities, so only clean water vapor is released into the air.
Another thing I love is how incredibly quiet it is. Even when it's running on high, I can barely hear it. And in night mode, it's practically silent – my daughter sleeps right through it. The night mode also dims the display lights, creating a peaceful sleep environment for her.
The humidifier has a user-friendly touchscreen interface. It's bright, responsive, and easy to navigate. I can easily adjust the fan speed, enable Auto Mode or Night Mode (perfect for ensuring a peaceful sleep environment when my daughter goes to bed), or activate the Display Lock, which prevents little fingers from changing the settings. I call this the 'child lock,' and it's a lifesaver with a curious toddler who loves to push buttons. It gives me peace of mind knowing she can't accidentally change the settings or turn the humidifier off.
Blueair App:
The Blueair app makes this humidifier incredibly easy to use and monitor. I can reliably control it from anywhere, which is great for a busy parent like me. I often turn it on from my office before leaving for the day, so my daughter's room is comfortably humidified by the time we get home in the evening.
The app also lets me schedule the humidifier to run at different times and intensities. I have it set to run at a lower speed during the day when we're out, and then ramp up in the evening for a more comfortable sleep. The app even monitors the filter life and sends me a notification when it's time for a replacement, which takes the guesswork out of maintenance.
And speaking of monitoring, the app provides a clear and colorful graph of the humidity levels in the room, so I can see how the humidifier is performing over time.

If you don't already knowthis, Blueair has been making purifiers for some time and they just recently got into the humidifier game. My kids are mild asthmatic and suffer from allergies often( Bless 'em.) , so we have used air purifiers for a while, now. But when they or I get sickand we need to add some humidity to the mix, we tend to resort to boiling vapor rub in water and covering their faces in a homemade dome for humidity ( a lot of southerners know what I'm talking about.) Tis helps to release the stuffiness of the nasal cavities. However, it can be an uncomfortable experience for many. But humidifiers dp the tricl simply by being the room. Blueair doesn't disappoint in what it does. It's quiet and easy to use. Just add water and get started. There's a large reservoir to pour water into and it lasts a good while the vapors are barely noticeable and it allows us to sleep throughout the evening There'ss an indicator to let you know when you;re low on water and you don't even have to stop the process to refill the reservoir. Just pour the water right through the top. There's a dry mode, which allows you to go through a dry cycle to make sure that there's no lingering moisture to prevent molding. Changing the water filter is super easy and the whole machine can be operated through the Blueair App, from your phone. There are so many other things you can do with the app, so it very recommended that you install it. Inside the box, you'll simply get the humidifier and the power supply. There are also how to instructions in the box as well. But I do recommend it to any and everyone.

The Blueair InvisibleMist™ Humidifier comes packaged with a user manual, an extra water pump sponge filter, a 12v barrel jack power adapter and the humidifier unit itself.
Setup
Setup was very easy. You first download the Blueair App and register for an account. Then you power on the device. The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier uses Bluetooth to pair with your phone for setup, so you need to make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your phone. The Blueair app should now be able to find and display the humidifier.
You then follow the prompts to select the Wi-Fi network you want the humidifier to connect to. The setup process was fairly simple, and I didn’t experience any hiccups.
There is a touchscreen interface on top of the unit that has the following indicators and touch buttons:
Humidity Level Indicator
Power On Indicator/Button
Wi-Fi Indicator
Low Water Indicator
Expired Filter Indicator/Button
Auto Dry Mode Indicator/Button (the default is on and will cause the unit to use low airflow to dry out the filter after use or when the water tank is empty)
Fan Speed Indicator/Button
Auto Mode Indicator/Button (this causes the unit to automatically adjust humidification power to meet target humidity level)
Night Mode Indicator/Button (this causes the fan speed to be extra quiet)
Operation and Use
Operation is very simple. You can pour water at the top of the unit to fill the water tank, or you can remove the water tank and take it up to a sink to fill it up with water. The water tank even has a handle for this. For me, I just poured water into the top of the unit using water bottles. The tank has a visible maximum water line to help you know when the tank is full.
At first, I was confused because the Low Water Indicator was still on even though the water tank was full. I found out I have to turn off the unit and turn it back on for it to realize that there is water in the tank.
I found the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier to be very quiet although I can hear the fan if the air is super dry, and the humidifier is working hard to increase the humidity level. But once it reaches a comfortable level (like 40%), the fan is basically silent, and you only sometimes hear what sounds like trickling of water.
I did not see any visible mist coming from the top that usually occurs with ultrasonic humidifiers. The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier uses technology that doesn’t produce a mist or any white dust or residue that typically comes from ultrasonic humidifiers.
The air coming out of the top of the humidifier felt cool and comfortable but not wet.
Today was a very dry and cold day in my house. The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier reported a humidity level of 32% and my ThermoPro Hygrometer reported a very dry 29% for the room.
After about ½ hour of use, the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier reported that humidity level rose to 42% while my ThermoPro Hygrometer reported that the humidity level increased to 35% and that the room went from “dry” to “comfort” level. This was really impressive to me!
I hope that this will help make my room more comfortable for me and help alleviate my dry itchy skin and prevent static shocks when I need to work on upgrading parts for my computer during the dry winter months.
The Blueair app is also very nice and intuitive to use. You have complete control over the humidifier using the app and it provides very useful information (such as a graph of the humidity levels over time) and the current humidity level and temperature.
Overall, I am really impressed with the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier. It seems to work really well in raising the humidity levels of my room. It is simple to use and is easy to maintain. It is also very quiet during operation. Finally, I am very impressed with the mist-free technology as it doesn’t leave any wet residue nearby the unit.
I can easily recommend the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier to anyone looking for a humidifier to make their home more comfortable and healthy.

BlueAir H35i Humidifier ~ NONE FINER THAN THIS ONE

I was so pleased to receive this humidifier as it's now our cold season and my skin gets dry. Upon opening there is an app code to scan which takes you to the BlueAir website. Once signed up you will be able to get accurate humidity tracking, custom scheduling and filter lifetime monitoring. Since I already own a BlueAir air purifier I had the app installed and just had to add this as another device. It will only connect via 2.4 GHz which it did right away without issue after I assembled it. One wonderful feature is I can easily add 0.9 gallons of tap water by pouring in through the top circular opening. You can remove the whole top area and then you have a handled fill bucket but I definitely prefer simply adding water through the top ~ very convenient! You must be sure not to overfill past the MAX line. Also line up the 2 dots you'll see ~ one on the bottom half and one on the top as then you know it's put together properly.
There is a black round touch panel on the top that tells you the current room humidity, 3 fan speeds, an A for Auto Mode (which I use all the time), Night Mode, Display Lock, WiFi symbol, Auto Dry Mode Indicator and the STANDBY/ON symbol. The Auto Dry feature is really great because after you turn it off the blue wick filter is wet from usage so this humidifier runs about a 2 hour air dryer to keep the filter from becoming moldy. There is a very informative and easy to understand paper manual included so no need to hit up the internet just to find out how to use it either. Tells you what each part is and how to put everything together. On the display there is also a Water Low indicator and a Filter Reset indicator which turns on as needed.
I have been using this humidifier every night for a week and I absolutely love it. Super quiet meaning no disturbing noise. You can set your desired humidity level on the app from 30-80% but I leave mine on the default of 50%. I used to wake up with a dry mouth and nose, sometimes itchy dry eyes. Since using this they have literally disappeared. There is virtually NO messy white dust on my dresser anywhere and this BlueAir definitely lives up to how it's advertised. I seriously would not want to be without it in the cold months of Wisconsin! I cannot find one negative thing to say about this product. I highly HIGHLY recommend its purchase! You'll feel much better if living in dry air conditions. It's outstanding in every way. BlueAir you have a winner here!
A:Thank you for your interest in Blueair! Yes, you can use distilled water, but the Blueair Humidifier is designed to work with tap water as well. It uses evaporative technology with a filter that removes any minerals or hardness from the water, ensuring only pure, clean humidity is released into the air. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
A:Thank you for your question! We apologize for the inconvenience of the current out-of-stock status. We are working diligently to restock the humidifier filters and expect them to be available soon.
