Q: My grandson has a AMD Ryzen AM4/MicroATX motherboard and his processor isAMD Ryzen 5 3400G with integrated graphics. He wants to add a designated graphics card and I do not know which one to even look at at. Can you help? Thank you

A: Considering he has an MicroATX Motherboard could mean his Pc case is really small. When looking for a graphics card, mostly just ensure that the card will fit in the case, the power supply can handle it and has the right connectors. Since your grandson has a Ryzen 5 3400g, it won’t bottleneck some pretty good gpus. I’d recommend looking into a Nvidia 3060 Ti if you are looking for the best performance, they are out of stock online most of the time so I would find a local computer store. If you are on a budget, a 1660 ti can be found online most of the time, will handle 1080p gaming just fine, as well as an rtx 2060. There is also amd where you can find a 5700xt which is a great gpu, if you can find it for around $400. If you want to dive into the used market, you can find some pretty good deals on a 1070 ti, this is an older gpu now 2 generations back but it will still out perform a 1660 ti. To help with your research, I would recommend you look at graphics card on different websites that meet your price range and use userbenchmark.com as a way to look at the performance of the gpu and compare it to others. Hope this helps!

Q: Can this card handle a 43 4k monitor via hdmi and a 1080p monitor via display port if im not gaming? Will basically be using it for work which will include 1 or 2 graphics extensive apps. Just concerned about heat issues. .thx.

A: I would say that it could not do 4k and 1080p at the same time in gaming, even if you overclocked as much as you could, this probably could do stuff like web browsing and watching tv in 4k though, even with the other 1080p monitor.
