Great printer! I am a very busy instructor in the medical field and this unit has amazed me! I’m still using the same toner the unit came with! The pic I took is around the 800 or more printings I’ve completed! Love it!

The HP LaserJet Pro M404dw is a monochrome laser printer loaded with features.
It is speedy at printing at 40 ppm. It does duplex printing and is wireless. It has a large 350-sheet output tray.
It has a few negative features that take away from all the plusses indicated above. At this price point, you could easily buy a color laser printer. Also, at this price point you would expect an LCD touchscreen to operate the controls. Instead, you get a 2-line LED screen. Much of the functionality is done through software.
Yes, the M404dw is a solid feature-laden printer. But if it were priced closer to $200, this would be a much better value.

This is a really nice and simple black and white printer that does its job without any issues so far. This is the second HP I have bought and I will continue to buy hp printers. My family needed a reliable no frills printer and this one has served us well. I have had this printer for over a year and have not had any issues. The air print makes this printer easy for everyone to use. Setup was super easy.

This printer is excellent, prints quickly, double-sided printing, outstanding image quality, extremely easy setup...BUT... Long story short: I was shopping for a printer in which I could load 50-100 #10 letter-size envelopes. HP reps led me to believe that this printer was compatible with a separate feeder tray so I could load that many envelopes at one time. This printer is compatible with the additional feeder tray, but the feeder tray is clearly marked that it is not to be used for envelopes! The ONLY way to print #10 envelopes with this printer is to feed them in through the pull-down tray on the front of the printer. This is a really good printer, but I think it is at least $100 overpriced (based on what I paid on 8/17/21).

I purchased this printer several months ago. It is wonderful! It is basically the same as the older model that I had for over 15 years, with the exception of it being wireless. In my opinion, the HP laser printers are the best value for the money. They use very little toner, which makes them a much more economical choice. I am now retired, but print quite a bit. The toner cartridge will last over a full year, in fact closer to 18 months. With inkjet printers I was always running out of ink and spending so much money on new cartridges.
This printer is lightning fast, prints front and back, and operates wireless or corded. HP laser jets are basically a "work horse"!

I love my new HP Laserjet Pro M-404DW. This printer is quiet, fast and has great print quality. I needed a printer that had great print quality, was fast , had automatic duplexing of print and would allow wireless printing, this printer "checks all the boxes"!
This printer replaces 2 brother laser printers that failed within a 2 year period, the first printer lasted about 18 months the second one only lasted 2 months, bothe were replaced under geek squad replacement warranties. It all comes down to you get what you pay for. A sub $200 laser cannot compare to a $420. HP Laserjet.
The speed anf print quality on this HP Laserjet blows away the previous Brother printer. The print quality on the HP is so much clearer and sharper than the print on the Brother. Even when set on the lowest print quality the Hp printers print quality is so much cleared and sharper than the brother laser even on brothers highest print quality. There is no comparison between the HP and the Brother, the HP wins hands down. The superior build quality is evident immediatly when you open the HP box, everything fits better the toner cart fits much better and slides in more smoothly on the HP than the Brother and is much quieter when printing.
Yes the HP is about twice the cost and the toner carts are more expensive, but you get what you pay for! You can buy quality once first off or you can go cheap and spend much more on multiple throw away printers. I am confident this printer will last much longer and print much better than the previous 2 printers it replaces. I am very pleased with my HP M404DW!

Working from home, this printer has been very functional. More than what I wanted to pay, but only one available as the others that I tried to purchase was told that they were lower in cost were sold out. Ink is also very expensive to buy. With what is going on in 2020 and working from home at this time I had to get was available.

I have used HP printer for many years. This printer was needed as a second printer and has many more features than my older HP which is still going strong after almost 20 years. This new printer has features like Duplex and wireless printing which makes this a great printer for the family.
A:Envelopes can be printed from Drawer #1 (the "manual load" drawer). Up to 10 envelopes can be loaded at a time. Envelopes should not be printed from drqwer #2. which has a removable paper tray for up to 100 or 250 pages of sheet paper (up to 8.5" by 14" size). Please refer to the HP manual, which can be found at the following link:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06177490
A:The dimensions of the HP Laserjet Pro M404dw printer are (W x D x H)
15 x 25 x 9.5 inches with the paper tray extended. The dimensions without the paper tray extended: (W x D x H) 15 x 14.06 x 8.5 inches.
A:You have two cartridge options: 58A which prints about 3,000 pages and the 58X (high yield) which prints about 10,000 pages. The high yield cartridges are the best value.
A:It can be a bit more difficult to find laser printer iron-on transfer paper, as most are made for inkjet printers. Using inkjet transfer paper in a laserjet will damage the paper and possibly the printer as the printer uses heat to transfer the image to the paper.
