This headset is pretty great. If you have a lot of money then no big deal you will get a great headset for a terrible price. This headset is about $200 too much. If you want a headset that is better all around the turtle beach elite pro2 (it’s not wireless but one small wire you don’t even notice it) even the non super amp version for $130 is amazing sound quality and built with more premium materials. It’s also very confusing to get started using there is a lot of software and buttons. The firmware needs updated immediately as well. not a bad headset though. If this was $99 I would give it 5 stars because for being wireless and decent quality as well as the base this is actually why I bought it because the ease of just docking it and charging it.
Pros:
-Sounds good (not as great as I thought it would though for the price)
-Charging dock/base is convenient
-Comfortable
-Mic sounds decent
Cons:
-Overpriced for the materials you get
-Ear-cuffs aren’t bad but they feel cheap and after about 7 hrs my ears were starting to get sore.
-Have to update firmware immediately through Command Center (their software) sometimes the 2019 app won’t work and you have to download the 2015 version. Program and update it first before using the app and updating again (very inconvenient for $300 shouldn’t have to do anything)
-sound quality is good but average not one special thing about it.
Conclusion: if you buy this you aren’t making a mistake it’s a good headset. For the money I would not recommend it and advise looking into other options Corsair void is $75 I think and this is on par with that. Unfortunately since they are a sponsor in MLG kids think it’s the best thing you can buy but it’s really not. Solid 3 star headset by me.

Astro a50 vs Steel Series

I mean I’ve been told these are the best in the game. And they are , I’ve had Turtle Beaches and even still have a pair Steel Series for the Xbox one. The 200 dollar ones. The only downfall is the lack of Bluetooth, coming from Steel Series and being able to answer phone calls, listen to music, and talk online was an extreme PRO for the Arctic Steel Series. Astro’s will always put a hole in your pocket and it’s only worth it if they live up to their hype. Which they do, the facts I can walk to my car and still talk to my friends in the party chat had me bragging about Astro’s for a week straight. Compared to the Steel Series, huge improvement. Sound quality is spectacular, as well as battery life. I haven’t killed them yet, so I’m unclear on how long it takes to fully charge them though I read it’s very quick. I do have a little dance while trying to put them on the charging dock, it could get tricky honestly. Besides that my ears never hurt after long periods of gaming, plenty of space in the cup. They pick up everything and nothing at the same time. What I mean is if you move your head too fast your mic will pick up the movement. My squad plays search, so when it’s time be quiet and then you hear my dumb self making sound in the background because I’m trying to pick something up you hear all of it. But when I’m speaking it’s in and out. Take your time to adjust the threshold for your mic!! But I would suggest buying if you have the money to invest. If you don’t, go for Steel Series, deal with the fact that you can’t be more than 10 feet away from your Xbox for 200 and you’ll be happy. Oh also, finding a place to put those Astro’s was a pain. The optical chord was extremely short. It basically needs to be right next to the console. I have it behind my tv. Peep pics.

Great headset with a terrible design flaw

This headset checks every box I required for a gaming headset. Wireless, base station charging, and ease of use with the program on Windows.
I'm coming from a pair of wired AKG headphones that was plugged into an amplifier, so for me the sound quality of these is not as good as it was with the AKGs. But it is more than good enough for gaming and music, with the main added benefit being the convenience of wireless.
The base station works flawlessly, and it never fails to charge. Easy enough to plug into the computer and Windows recognizes the headset right away. Installing the Astro Command Center was a breeze and the options and features are more than enough for what the headset can do.
The reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because of the most egregious design flaw of any product I've owned: The headband.
After 6 months of use, the small foam cushion inbetween the two plastic headbands refuses to stay in. It is only held in with two small plastic notches, and no matter how I adjust the headset, it constantly pops out all on its own and causes the plastic headband to dig into my skull until I take my hands off of everything and fix it. And as soon as I take my hands off the headband it pops right off again. You could say "simple solution, just glue it in place". However, if I ever planned to sell this headset, that piece would not be removable anymore and would degrade the resell value. Not to mention this headset cost $400 when it came out. I bought it on a promotion from Best Buy for $300. It frequently goes on sale for $150 if you know where to look.
I don't feel that I should have to glue things in place on a headset that MSRP'd for $400 when brand new. I'm past the return window and Logitech wants 6 weeks to sent me a refurbished replacement, so no thanks. I wouldn't even pay $150 now knowing how bad this design flaw is. I'll either sell them for cheap and invest in something else or go back to my AKG headphones.
Great overall and awesome when I'm not being impaled by sharp plastic. Unfortunately it happens more often than not.

I was very excited to get this headset. I had heard nothing but great things. After using this headset only twice, the top headband of the headset has started popping out. It's very frustrating to be playing a game and have it just pop out. I have yet to actually glue it down, but if the issue persists, that will be the solution. Other than that, it's a great headset! The sound quality is great! I've always loved Astro gaming headsets.

A50 Gen 4 Gaming Headset is pretty good

Pros:
- Comfortable
- Decent frame
- 2 Options to charge the headset, w/ Micro USB or Base Station
- Equalizer customisation +Advanced Settings
- Dolby Atmos Compatible
- Gaming and Music Audio is pretty good and loud
- Microphone sounds good + Good Noise Gate options
- Decent Directional Accuracy
- Convenient Microphone switch (Flip up turns off, Flip down turns on)
- Buttons on headset you can change between Dolby or PC and saved Equalizer options you have setup or using preset
- Wireless + Decent Range away from base station
- Good Bass
Cons:
- No Bluetooth connectivity, if you want to use it, you'll need the base station in order to use the headset.
- Gets warm around the ears when used during very long hours
- Prefer a button just to mute the microphone over flipping it up or down
- Little bit heavy
- Some games you may not be able to hear other players but they can hear you. (I only had this issue w/ Destiny 2. Haven't tried other MP games yet.)
(VERY IMPORTANT) There are two versions of ACC(Astro Command Center) one in the Microsoft Store and one on the website. For me, I had to use the one from the website, as the Microsoft Store version wasn't able to pick up my headset at all. I went through the process of resetting it and whatnot. So I would test using the one from the website before using the Microsoft Store. Also do follow the steps from the video.
I wish there was a button so you can just mute/unmute the microphone, but I guess flipping is more of a convenient sake. And able to use the headset via Bluetooth.
Overall, I quite enjoy the headsets as they do satisfy my needs and wants for gaming and music listening. Also the clear and good quality sounding of a microphone they have, its probably not the best. But in terms for headsets, this is pretty good. The program is easy to use and navigate.

A:Yes it does. I just got them today in the mail and it said “Xbox one” on them so I was kinda upset because I thought I would have to exchange them. But there’s a switch on the back to change it from Xbox one to PC mode and it works with PS4 on PC mode.
A:It’s going to work a little differently depending on which system you opt for, as well as by headset model. Wired sets like the A10, A40, and A40TR will continue to use the 3.5mm port on both the Xbox and PlayStation controllers. Wireless rigs like the A20, the MixAmp Pro TR, and A50 Wireless will work via USB with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X; the latter system requires the headset to download a firmware update. For a full audio mix on the PS5, gamers will need to pick up an HDMI adapter from the company’s website for $40.
A:I had the same question myself, but luckily this video answered just about all of them. Hope this helps! Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u6QiVRsWOE
A:There are only 2 versions for gen 4 astro A50. PS4 version and XBOX ONE version, both compatible with pc. Model number 939-001673 is ps4/pc version (black) and model number 939-001680 xbox (gray). Both have a switch at the back of base station for console or pc. This headset is great Only downside is the price.
A:The mixamp is combined into the base station where you dock the headset. Therefore, you can do mixamp type things on the right ear cup of the headset such as balance game/chat sound and master volume.
