1. Comes with the RTX 2070 Super Max Q. Not the RTX 2070.
2. Fan noise isn't very loud (coming from 2015 Alienware15) . I can play on 80% volume no need for headphones.
3. Amoled screen is just downright beautiful. No it's not 120hz it's 60 but for a casual gamer, AAA titles and retro this thing will push 60fps easily with the GPU at 1440p or higher.
4. Upgradable ram and extra NVME drive.
5. Bought on sale for $1499.99. No laptop comes close with a RTX2070S. Best I could find was $2000.
6. Based on test I have run, the ram is not DDR4 2933mhz it is 3200mhz.
7. Per key RGB keyboard is pretty nice.
8. 40 to 60fps easily at 4k.
9. Tons of ports.
Cons:
Battery life- maybe 2 hours.
Flex in lid is worrisome for long term.
Keyboard is set to the left, very weird to get use to.

First things first--THIS LAPTOP HAS A 2070 SUPER Max-Q. Don't listen to the "HP Team." They have no idea what they are talking about and that's really a shame. Other caveats. I haven't put it through all the paces yet. and still getting used to the keyboard which is a little offset. That being said, I have this machine next to a Razer Blade 2020 with the same CPU and a 2070 Max-Q, and this computer blows it out of the water performance-wise. The Razer does have an edge in build quality and weight, and I think I like the keyboard better, but this computer is quite good.
The screen is noticeably brighter, despite being probably similar in terms of manufacture (all OLED laptop panels are Samsung). 50% brightness on this looks like full brightness on the Blade.
I've appended some benchmark results from World War Z. Look at the difference between the two laptops! Night and day. The Omen crushed it and the Blade barely made it through.
I ran some additional tests with the computer too. For Ashes of the Singularity Escalation, you're looking at 60+ FPS on high settings for the most part. Total War Warhammer II, about 30FPS on 4k with details high (tweaking the details or switching to 1080p--which frankly is hardly noticeable on this screen size--gets you far better).
Witcher 3 at 4k with most settings at high, hairworks off, you get solid 50+ FPS. 1080p ultra even with hairworks for Geralt you can lock it in at 60 FPS, and it looks basically just as good.
Outer Worlds, 50+ FPS at 4k with High settings. I did notice some screen tearing here, so consider V-Sync.
Here are the results from Userbenchmark. Really amazing quite frankly. The GPU exceeds the 2080 Max-Q typical bench and the computer as a whole is performing quite well (please note the Mem was not set for the correct XMP profile out of the box, you need to adjust that for even better performance).
This laptop is a steal at $1800. It outperforms the Razer Blade at $400 more and is the cheapest laptop with an amazing OLED screen and 2070 Super Max-Q (which really makes a huge difference here) by far, Build quality is good, not Razer Blade level and it's a bit beefier than a Blade, but you are looking at a heck of a deal.

This HP Omen laptop 15- rk0033dx model has Intel core i7- 10750H processor. There is 1 TB solid state drive with plenty of sdram (16 GB). It has no optical drive. It has 15.6 UHD UWVA oled display. It has a 6 cell 70.9bWH battery. I almost forgot the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 max-Q 8 GB dedicated video card. This laptop is as powerful as some people's desktop computers.

How should I start this review ?
Well for starters let me say this Laptop is absolutely amazing with a perfect sharp vivid OLED full UHD 3840X2160 screen.
I am actually a BIG fan of the OMEN 15's build quality while others may not be that BIG of a fan.
The screen/chasis was designed this way for a Valid reason and one reason only.
Optimal cooling and let me tell ya this design definitely works and than some.
No lie I am seeing absolutely incredible temps MAX so far under full throttle LOAD (No thermal throttling) was 86 degrees Celsius but again that's under Full Load pedal to the metal.
Typically everyday temps like just light browsing and Watching movies/YouTube I'm seeing temps from 36 degrees Celsius to 52 degrees Celsius which are absolutely incredible. You see HP took a whole different approach with this redesign they really focused HARD on optimal cooling under basic and heavy tasks. They literally spent so much research in design and build it makes my head spin. It's so perfect so appropriate for anything I decide to throw at it.
I am beyond amazed on how well this Laptop is performing.
I'm also a BIG fan I know I been saying that a lot in this review but it's true I'm a BIG fan of the OMEN COMMAND CENTER. I like how you can use the MUCG switch to go from HYBRID mode to Discreet graphics with a simple fast restart.
Or how you can enable performance mode with a push of a button without restart of Laptop being required.
Let's talk about the Keyboard
For me ?
I have zero issues however I'm a very fast 3 finger Typist so that might have something to do with it. I have zero issues key travel is more than appropriate and obviously love the per Key RGB software.
As for Value ?
Well considering I paid for this BEAST $1450 + tax when on sale for that 3 days in Best buy ummm yes I got one heck of a deal here. I would pay up to $1800 for this Laptop which is return is MSRP I might add.
Gaming on this thing and video editing is an absolute breeze especially when plugged in which is required. Note that !!
Anyways I see roughly on AAA titles like Outriders or Nier Replicant anywhere from 43 to 58 FPS full UHD medium to high settings which certainly is considered playable ! With a 60 htz screen would I recommend to play E sports FPS games on this PC ? No I would not as this OLED master of a screen supports up to 60htz only. The trade off comes in when video editing as I am a content creator and edit videos all the time. Editing on this rendering videos is an absolute breeze and compared to your old laptop I guarantee you will see almost 8x time shaved off from downloading and uploading full 4K videos.
The Video Card the Graphics?
My configuration certainly came with 2070 SUPER Max Q that's right Super it's confirmed via hardware manager and via Nvidia MY RIG.
I see some reviews in here that they just get the normal 2070 Max Q and no Super ?
Weird that shouldn't happen at least from what I hear from reviews on YouTube.
Anyways back to what I was saying.
The Super 2070 Max Q is basically a full desktop 2060 super or maybe close to 2070 DT variant.
Expect to play games in full 4K even if you have to turn graphics down trust me you can still do it here.
I've done it on medium and High settings !
Port selection: A wide array of port IO here yea Full SD card reader
Ethernet port
Two USB's
1 type C/Thunderbolt 3
Mic/headphone Jack
Charge port
Etc..
Port selection is perfect IMO
Especially like where the charge cable port is out of the way on the left side away from everything
Great Job HP!
Now Do I recommend this Laptop?
Well depends if you are a content creator and you do that for a living or you enjoy light to medium gaming in full 4K than yes absolutely I recommend this laptop.
I do want to add please do not throw this thing around in a Bag with a bunch of Stuff it's not built to be abused it's meant to be taken care of and carefully placed in a reinforced 15.6 inch laptop case/sleeve with optimal protection.
If you buy this laptop to take with you everywhere in your book bag or back pack think again DO NOT BUY this Laptop. As I said above HP took a different approach to capture that optimal cooling solution. They did not make this a perfect build quality for you to abuse !
Alright guys that about sums it up I am so happy with my purchase and honestly just because this is my 1st OMEN gaming laptop purchase it won't be my last. Best buy elite member here so when the RTX 30 series comes out with another OLED 4K option you can bet I will be back to pick up another one as long as the design stays consistent like this one than yes count me in.
Much Love and Blessings to all
Signing out
PS: upgrading to 32GB RAM DDR4 2300 next week
Heard the process of removing back panel is a breeze and is welcomed for easy user upgrade ability.
Ha ha until next time

Great value when on sale 1399...got mine open box for (1380$ after taxes).
4k ideal for on the go work/content consumption
1tb maindrive as games are insane these days
When gaming, force enable the system to discreet gpu mode this is essentially a mux switch in the omen launcher. It will reboot your system if hybrid mode is enabled.
You can then access nvidia control panel and in the vertical sync settings you can select "Fast" mode. This is FAST-sync essentially a tearfree gaming experience at 60hz for shooters if you MUST game off of the 15" panel. Otherwise the addition of a mux switch is largely a huge deal when connected to an external panel. I can play BFV on low 1440p at 90-120 fps which is pretty astonishing as im getting 70-75c on cpu with the fan on max. The fans become more tolerable if you have the system......tucked away and are gaming off of a dedicated monitor. Still though.
I returned a zeph g15 with a 3070 for this bc the zeph was stuck on whispermode and couldnt be disabled.
Ill leave a pic of the 3dmark score on performance mode and max fan speed. I have other 3dmark scores with stock mode+auto fans and performance+auto fans. Theyre on my desktop. So i only have the single maxed out run on the laptop.

Great Laptop, you wont be disappointed. I originally went with the because i had heard great things about it Asus Zephyrus M15 but it had a weird manufacturer defect that turned my internet off when it was plugged in. There was an easy fix, but Asus purposefully prevented my from fixing it it so it ultimately had to be returned. This was my second choice but ultimately after using it, it would have been my first choice. My friend actually needed a new laptop and she got this very one as well and loves it. I had an older omen and loved it until it died (my fault) so hopefully this one provides me with some good longevity as well. Each key can be programmed for different colors and animations, but the lights can be a bit laggy sometimes if you hsve the animations on. Gaming is smooth, colors look great, and it runs perfectly!

I am a professional photographer with Rugged Grace Photography and I needed something high grade, yet portable. this HP Omen met my expectations and then some! The color calibration is simple, and beautiful. The screen sheen makes editing exceptional. My work, and my business has improved since the purchase just three month ago.

I barely got mine just a couple of days ago and it most certainly is an L98758-001 motherboard Omen 15-ek0023dx so check more thoroughly like expanding your performance tab for more details under task manager as per the pictures I included.
A:HI. The HP Omen model 15-ek0023dx Gaming laptop has 2 solid state drive sockets per the Upgrading and Service Guide on page 32. Here is a link to the guide:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06638089
A:Yes this will work with the HP dock. Haven’t said that there’s plenty of ports built in. I’d save that money and upgrade the ram to 32gb for better performance.
A:If you wanted to buy this for gaming and also use it for movies and everyday use, it will perform extremely well. If you are asking if this is a good choice for movies and everyday, use, it is overkill as a specialized gaming laptop like this has an expensive dedicated graphics card which you don't need for movies and everyday use. Here is one I would suggest for you for movies and everyday use:
