So basically ever since the PlayStation 2 controller they've been using the same exact analog mechanics the exact parts inside the Xbox control sticks aka analog stick mechanism all the same. the Nintendo GameCube the PlayStation and pretty much everything else the newer systems the PlayStation 4 the PlayStation 5 Xbox One. the series X all have the same joystick from 2001 ish.i have the same problem I just got my PS5 in March and a left joystick is drifting left bad , it's mainly caused by excessive use and clicking left or right joystick in while at the same time moving the joystick in the direction you're wanting to move it I played a messenger's for a while and really put a lot of stress obviously on my controller cuz that's mainly the first game I played when I got my PS5 and that game requires a lot of clicking in the joystick and moving it up and yeah my left joystick is totally farkedt up most likely up and right and it's just ridiculous. I am contacting Best Buy today you almost don't even need the Geek Squad if you bought it within 3 months cuz they'll give you a new controller I did it with my PS4 so whatever they tell you about needing The Geek Squad if your system is less than 3 months old even if Best Buy won't give you a new one Xbox will AKA Microsoft. On top of all that as I said if you don't have the Geek Squad or respective store you purchased it from warranty plan the controllers problems are recognized by Microsoft and Sony it doesn't really matter where are you bought it if you contact the Microsoft they will send you a new one for free and so will Sonny if the Geek Squad giving you any trouble I used to work as a Geek Squad number and I used to have to overcharge people and got fired because I was doing stuff for free and very cheap cuz I didn't feel charging a poor old woman $70 just to take her laptop was right
