• A:Answer Once any protection plan expires, it is really hard to renew it. This is because usually, people let it expire, then something happens, and wants a warranty or protection plan to cover their mishap and companies know this. So, I think you are out of luck o this one. Always get at least a 2 yr. plan to cover your products if used on a regular basis 2 yrs. will cover your product. Good Luck.

However, this protection plan will cover accidental damage and handling (ADH) along with a couple of other use cases. It does not cover services and labor fees not associated with repairs or replacement. Typically, the protection plan begins at the point of purchase with the device, and will last for the duration of whichever plan you purchase. If you are looking for something that does help with labor fees, consider looking into Best Buy Totaltech. At $199.99 a year, it provides both a year of protection to start as well as a plethora of free or discounted services from the geek squad.

• A:Answer If you are going to replace a device with a gift card as your device is unrepairable, then just transfer the balance to the new machine. Once a protection plan is negated by an unrepairable device then it is no longer a valid plan, but you should be able to transfer it with a new device so long as it is purchased at the same place and time as when you surrender the old device

• A:Answer I believe that as long as your contract has not expired they will repair it (if it is under the warranty of the contract). I think mine says 'repair or replace'. Just call and ask them. They'll look up your warranty.

• A:Answer If it is manufacturers defect, then it’s taken care of by your warranty. In your case, dropping it isn’t covered by manufacturers. So your geek squad protection plan covers it. If it gets replaced due to the physical damage not being repairable. Your plan is fulfilled. Because it did what it’s meant to do, it got you a replacement. You’d have to purchase a new protection plan on the replacement computer.
