QuestionConnected my Samsung TV, Apple TV and Samsung Blu Ray to Rocketfish RF-G1185 HDMI switcher but TV fades in and out every few seconds (2 seconds on then goes black for 10 seconds then comes back), switcher will not stop on the Apple TV port (2).Blu Ray ok

- Answer Have you tried switching the Blu-ray with the Apple TV ports. If you do so and the Apple Works in the Blu-ray doesn't then the port is bad on the switch. Try connecting to Apple TV directly to the television and see if it works. If it works directly to the television and not through the port you need to reconfigure your Apple TV

QuestionI hooked up three inputs to the HDMI splitter and it works fine for a few minutes then automatically changes from input one to input three without pushing any buttons on the remote. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

- Answer The device automatically senses the most active HDMI and switch to that input for example if I have my Chromecast in and my cable hooked up and I click Chromecast it would switch over to Chromecast automatically. All you have to do is reclick back to the one that you want to actively use on the remote

QuestionSwitches on it's ownHi I have this item and it connects a Comcast X-Finity Box and a Samsung Bluray Player (Samsung Smart TV as well). However, I will turn the TV on and use the Comcast cable and the switch will randomly take me over to the Bluray player. Is there any way to stop this? Thank you.

- Answer If it randomly switches between the 4 HDMI inputs without you doing anything, either the device is defective, or there is an errant IR signal being received by the Rocketfish.

QuestionThe unit does not pick up anything that is plugged in.TV is plugged in output. Cable box, PS3 and PS4 plugged into input slots 1, 2 and 3. We cannot get anything to be recognized and thus none of the input devices give a signal. Any help is appreciated

- Answer It's probably the PS3 causing conflicts. Try plugging it directly into your receiver, and everything else through the HDMI switchbox.... Our PS3 is the pickiest HDMI device that I've ever seen in my life, and is not 100% fully compatible with any HDMI switchbox that I've ever tried (and believe me, I've tried many even $$ active models).

- Answer I'm not sure, but I seriously suggest grabbing a logitech harmony remote. I have a 650 and 700 series and cannot live without them. They run about $80 for the GOOD ones. You can do almost anything with them, including the rocketfish hdmi selectors. Check other places online before you go, they price match.

QuestionManual switchingTo keep things simple for others in my household, I keep the unit on continuously. But every time I turn off the TV for extended periods and turn it back on, I have to turn off and turn back on the HDMI selector. Is there a way that I can avoid this?

- Answer It would depend on the TV manufacturer. Generally it means that there is not a signal reaching the TV. This could be an HDCP issue. I would try an HDMI reset. Unplug all the devices from the power. Disconnect all the HDMI cables. Reconnect the HDMI cables and then plug in the Blu Ray player. Plug in the selector and then the TV. If that doesn't work, then call us at 877-467-4289 for further assistance.

- Answer Use code: 0547. I figured out this code mostly. Just took half an hour on auto-code. I have the GE 6-Device Backlit Universal Remote Control #47506. The power will work. HDMI 1 = #5 HDMI 2 = #7 HDMI 3 = #Unknown HDMI 4 = #9 If you figure out a better code, or how to get to HDMI #3, let me know. This appears to be a code for the following CD players: Sears Realistic Teac Marrantz Sherwood

QuestionProduct malfunctionAbout every 30 minutes or so, the tv or dvd player blink out for about a second. This problem did not exist until I connected using 4 port 3D HDMI switch. Too late to return to Best Buy. Is this a warrantable issue?

- Answer If you are within the warranty coverage, you may certainly seek replacement. Otherwise, you would need to replace it at your own expense if beyond warranty.

QuestionWhy doesn't my HDMI selector recognize my TV automatically?I have my cable box signal connected to port 1. If I power on my TV and cable box on I don't get a picture until I switch from port 1 to port 2 and back to port 1 again. It doesn't seem to recognize the cable signal at start-up.

QuestionHDMI SPLITTERI have 2 TV's that back up to each other on the same common wall. I have Comcast X1 cable box and want to split the HDMI out to view the 2 TV's. I am told that there is on splitter that will do this, can anyone tell me if there is a splitter that will accomplish this.

- Answer This is not a splitter, this is a switcher. You will need to find an HDMI splitter (one input to two outputs.)

- Answer Unfortunately there are not aftermarket remotes available for this unit. It does have a auto switch that should change it to the single active input if only one source device is powered on.

- Answer I purchased the Harmony 650 universal remote and it works beautifully with my RocketFish HDMI port selector. Setup was very easy too. The Harmony 650 will allow you to control not only your RocketFish HDMI port selector, but all the other devices attached to it, as well.

QuestionProblems recognizing devicesBrand new unit. Seeking to connect (i) HD Cable Box, (ii) Apple TV, (iii) PS3 System. Each component works individually over the main HDMI cable connected to my TV. When set up through the selector the following happens: 1) TV has picture but no sound 2) Apple TV works fine 3) PS3 is not picked up at all (no picture, no sound) Each patch cable is a high-speed, HDMI cable. I can interchange the cables and the same thing takes place. Is there some sort of setting I can look to to get this to work?

- Answer I had similar results hooking up a PS3 and PS4 to a Dynex TV. This switch does nothing with many current devices - check the Rocketfish forums. Return it as soon as possible, before the very short Best Buy 15 day return policy has lapsed.
