There is a limited number of applications built into the SmartCast screen. We are continually evaluating new applications for addition to the SmartCast screen. In the meantime, you can cast any Chromecast enabled applications to the television from your mobile device.

No, Vizio doesn't allow to add apps to it manually, though it has a long list of pre-loaded apps and others that are not there, ell you can use the streaming from your phone (i.e. Fubo, Sling). The updates to the pre-loaded apps are automatic as well.
