The unit has RCA connectors and an optical digital input on it, so you can use either of those (optical preferred) to connect your TV to it. as far as the speakers, if you wanted to do some wire splicing, you could cut the quick connectors from the included speakers and attach them to the appropriate wires for your installed sound system.

The Home Theater System (HTS) has an digital optical input wherein you can connect your TV so that the sound will be routed to the HTS. Speaker wires are proprietary on this HTS so speakers that are not supplied with the system would not work. I have not been able to really play around with it yet. I can watch free movies on this Amazon for movies and i thought this was so neat really on a Blue Ray. :)
