• A:Answer Yes you can. Hit your function button until you get to the dvd screen. Go to setting. Then sound. Then speaker settings. Click on level. Here is where you can adjust all the speakers.

Q: QuestionCan you use a soundbar with this? In addition to this system??I recently purchased the 60 inch 4k Samsung and thought I could use my old JVC receiver. Not working out so well so I went and bought the 3oo watt Samsung soundbar along with a Samsung Blu-Ray. Interested in this system by not sure if it's compatible to ADD. If so, I could take back the Blu ray if this system already has it. I also purchased a ONKYO receiver but I do not like the sound with my older speakers I am returning that for sure. Please help with ideas!

Q: QuestionDolby, DTS with ARC HDMI SetupI'd like to use a single the HDMI ARC setup with my Samsung UN55HF9000 TV, but I read that you can't send digital audio through HDMI with this setup only 2.0 Stereo Sound. http://www.cnet.com/news/what-is-audio-return-channel-arc/ http://www.cnet.com/news/20-tvs-tested-which-sets-can-pass-surround-sound-to-a-sound-bar/ Is there any workaround for this? Is optical cable from the TV to the Receiver the only way? Thanks!

• A:Answer The article you linked to says "MAY" not pass DD5.1, it depends on the manufacturer and combo of equipment. I tried it with this Samsung and a Visio LCD TV with ARC support, and it didn't work. But you have a Samsung TV and they will probably work well together, by that is not a guarantee. In this case, buy it and try it, if it doesn't work, optical will, or you can just return the unit. I would recommend NOT removing all of that stupid plastic wrapping on the Samsung if you might return it.

Q: QuestionDoes the sound station need Aux cable to connect to the TV?i have installed the sound station, and connect to My Samsung TV with HDMI, However there is no sound coming out. Do I need to buy two Aux cable (red and white) to have the TV sound work?

• A:Answer I could not gt any sound from my TV either with HDMI ARC. I have an LG TV. If your TV has an optical cable jack, use that. I know it is an extra cable to buy, but it works. Hope that helps.

• A:Answer If you actually care about frequency response, or bottom end impact, you're looking at the wrong system. The sub is maybe a 6.5" driver and probably getting around 15-30 watts continuous at best (the 1000w rating is a bold-faced lie). I couldn't even get enough sub output to balance the the system with the built-in pink noise test. With the sub channel at +6db, measured output with an SPL meter was still -3db below the fronts and surrounds. The remote has a few lit buttons, mostly not lighted. It is an IR remote, so you can use any universal/learning remote to replace it.

Q: QuestionWill this work well with Samsung UN55UH6830 and DirecTV box?I have my Samsung UN55UH6830 TV connected to the DirecTV box with an HDMI cable but the TV does not output Dolby Digital 5.1 but DTS Neo 2:5 because of some limitations of Samsung and Dolby Digital. The only way I can get DD 5.1 is connecting the DirecTV box directly to a Home Theater with an optical cable. I am thinking of buying the Samsung 5500 Home Theater System (HTS) but first I would like know if the following setup will work well: 1) Connecting the DirectTV box with an Optical Cable to the Samsung 5500 System. 2) Connecting the Samsung 5500 HTS to my Samsung TV with a HMDI cable (ARC Port). 3) Connecting an old Laser Disc Player to my Samsung TV with a component Cable. 4) Connecting an External Hard Drive with movies (MP4 and MKV) to my TV through a USB port. In Theory, I would get the Dolby Digital 5,1 from my DirecTV box and from the BlueRay Disc Player included in this System and also from the movies (MP4 and MKV) I have in the External Hard Drive connected to my TV. Also, I will be able to change the volume with either the TV, DirecTV or Home Theater remote controls. Will this work as described? Thanks

• A:Answer Yes this will work. This devices puts out Dolby TrueHD which is a lossless audio. You can change your output as well. If your digital box only supports Dolby 5.1 you will only get Dolby 5.1 however. The movies you play through direct USB will have the option for TrueHD sound when used with the 5500W. You will have a better experience if it supports up to TrueHD on the movie being played. Coping, ripping, or any of that jazz will screw up your experience due to compression rates and other things out of context of your question.

Q: QuestionCompatabilityCan this system be used with a DirecTv DVR? My last Samsung system, which was a step down from this one, had an HDMI IN and HDMI OUT which made setup easy and had great surround sound. This system has just one HDMI OUT port. I have it set up and working right now with HDMI connection between my DVR and TV and Audio cables from the DVR to the blue ray player but only getting sound out of the front speakers. I have no sound out of the rear "wireless" speakers and the unit is linked. It also makes it hard to do any on screen changes to the system without having to change out cables because i have no video from the system to the tv. Suggestions??

• A:Answer If your TV has an optical output, use an optical cable and connect it to the optical input on Samsung. Any signal being fed to the TV will be fed to the Samsung, and likely will include the surround sound. If not, you may need to enable PCM or Bitstream in the audio settings of your TV, or your TV may have a stereo-only limitation. It always varies depending on the specific components of your system.

• A:Answer I also have a Samsung smart tv. This blu-ray home theater system replaces your current surround sound system, with incredible high def sound. The blu-ray part has nothing to do with where you live as long as you have a good strong broadband internet/cable hooked into it. Through my cable company I have a wifi network and this blu-ray system connects to it. As long as your system is set up properly, you'll be able to use the many features as well as blu-ray, DVD, CDs and more. Hope this helps.
