• Since you pour water into it, filtering is not required or you would filter your water beforehand. There is a screen the water goes through in case you drop something in the reservoir.

• It does not have one, I use a 1 gallon water filter container and refill with cold water inside the fridge. This process speeds up ice making too because ice form at a lower temp.
