Flash memory is stored on a microchip whereas a SSD is a type of drive similar to a hard drive. SSD's generally are faster and more costly but as far as a chromebook is concerned, Flash memory is just fine. There no real noticeable difference

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Flash is built in, ssd is a chip where you can purchase and just plug in. Gives it an extra boost of speed by freeing up your memory space. Won't last if you continue to store data consistently.
