QuestionI see that the RAM is expandable to 32gb. 8gb is included with the laptop. Is it 1 - 8gb stick, or 2 - 4gb sticks? I would like to upgrade the RAM to 16gb when I buy it. If it is a 1 - 8gb stick, what specs to I need to buy a matching 8gb stick?

QuestionWhat games is this able to run well? Because I would mostly be playing games like rainbow six siege, fortnite, Minecraft maybe gmod and cs go. Also, would that go well with also using it for college work?

- Answer I just got mine yesterday and the first thing i did was install rainbow six and it automatically sets the graphics to ultra and it plays like a dream, I highly recommend this laptop for gaming or school/buisness use.

- Answer I have not had an issue with overheating and I am using the laptop outside in 90 degree weather. If it did have a problem it does have a cooling boost setting.

- Answer I haven't looked at the Nits of this device, currently not at home, but the battery on a heavy game usage is two to three hours. Doing school work/basic browsing I've had the battery last for 7 1/2 hours.

QuestionSounds like a capable gaming laptop. Is it also good for work purposes? I use Word, Excel etc. I also would need it to run different apps for work as well as video conferencing and dialing in to remote vpn.

- Answer I have always owned HP Laptops , non of which were good for gaming. So I decided to look around for a affordable gaming laptop and purchased the Acer Nitro 5 ! I have only had it for about 30 days but so far it does much better than the HP's that I have owned. It has a fast start up,I do use it for IRacing the graphics are very good and can run many programs at one time ,Video is very high quality and works well with video conferencing, as far as VPN I have not tried it. I did however purchase an extra 8gb of memory and installed it myself,but I installed it before I even tried the Nitro out. so I don't know how it runs right out of the box I would give this a great rating as far as function and price! I would definitly recommend this Acer Nitro 5 to anyone ! It was one of my better purchases as far as price and quality! Hope this helps. Patrick

QuestionWhich hard drive does the windows come installed on? SSD or HDD?

- Answer It comes installed on a very fast M.2 Sata 3 stick. The 1TB stick is a 5200rmp Sata HDD which is empty. It boots very fast. It has a M.2 extra slot available up to 1.3 versions. I've installed the **HP EX950 M.2 2280 2TB PCle Gen3 x4, NVMe1.3 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) 5MS24AA#ABC ** in the other M.2 Slot without issue (due to the CPU/MB compatibility). No extra BIOS configuration was needed to install this. I am going to replace the 1TB HDD drive with a 2TB SSD 7mm when it arrives.

QuestionWhat is the storage of this laptop I know it says 8gb memory but if that’s all it has then I don’t see how it can be a gaming laptop since you wouldn’t be able to download any games?

- Answer You can down load games. 8gb memory is just your ram. Windows boots up on ssd drive then every thing is saved to your 1tb hd drive. I have cod, steam games and world of warcraft on mine. Still have alot of room.

- Answer There is one memory slot that supports up to 16GB, memory supported is DDR4 2666 SO-DIMM. The bottom case assembly must be removed to access the slot. The M.2 SSD slot is located on the mainboard same as the memory. Highest capacity SSD Acer qualified was 512GB. This model came out during the second quarter of 2019.

QuestionThe older versions of the nitro 5 (I heard) had a very bad overheating issue. Is it the same with this newer model?

- Answer It still runs warmer than I would like. I fixed this issue by putting new thermal paste on the GPU and CPU and undervolting the CPU. I run at 50° to 60° on high and ultra settings
