The ips glow is unavoidable and noticeable on my unit, but backlight bleed is surprisingly low (only a little bit on the bottom right corner). It's unnoticeable for chrome/regular use, but blacks are definitely not true blacks. Unfortunately, I don't think you can get much better with IPS. If you frequently use monitors to show dark images, maybe consider a VA panel? Pictures taken by phones tend to overexpose, so I couldn't get one that accurately represents what my eyes can see.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I played Arkham Asylum on this monitor and didn't see any IPS glow or back light bleed. Seems to look good on dark scenes. I also watched several streaming movies on this with dark scenes and they looked good also. The monitor seems to have very even lighting in dark scenes without any glow or back light bleed.
