When you set up your AeroGarden with a programmable menu, the garden will maintain a light and pump cycle that is optimal for the type of plant you have growing. Light Cycles depending on Plant Type: Flowers: 15.5 hours per day Salads: 16.5 hours per day Herbs: 17 hours per day Fruiting Vegetables (such as Tomatoes or Peppers): 16 hours per day If you are growing in an AeroGarden Harvest with three buttons on the front, the light cycle is 15 hours per day and the pump cycle is 5 minutes every 25 minutes. If you are growing in an AeroGarden Sprout, the light cycle is 16 hours per day and the aerator runs while the light is on. The grow light seems to go out during the day and turns on at night. So, yes, the plants get 24 hours of light.
