• Yes it is. There is no residue to worry about. Very handy and easy to use with no follow up wiping down to be done.

• it should be yes. I did so anyways and my clothes were fine. If you really want to take precautions, maybe run a cycle with vinegar in the bleach compartment. Should flush any remaining residues out!
