It’s hard to estimate how long the 1070 will be relevant for but the 1060 can still run all AAA titles and run most none AAA titles pretty good depending on settings. Black ops 4 on all ultra settings would run about 95-110 FPS. I imagine the 1070’s still got a good 1.5-2 years of service life towards the upper end of graphics settings, after that I think it’ll still be plenty usable but on some lower end settings to get 60fps. The good thing about gaming laptops is if you have to sell after 3 years I’d expect you could still get $600-800’s for an alienware of this spec. Something to watch for with Alienware however is the thermal pasting and CPU temps. I’ve owned 3 and the 17r4 could adequately cool itself but the 15r4 would get pretty hot. Upper 80’s is where it liked to sit, but it never exceeded that, BUT I may have been lucky with the thermal paste (also you don’t want upper 80 CPU temps, sure it’s not in the 90’s like the m series but it still increases wear). The best thing to do, imo, is to download the intel cpu tuning tool and undervolt the CPU, that helps quite a bit.
