My cardiologist says that 6 leads vs. 1 lead is like day vs. night.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A single lead will detect all rhythm disturbances, but more often than not different leads show the features of P, QRS and T waves more distinctly than just lead 1. So lead 1 will show the heart rate and the presence of any arrhythmia including heart blocks, PACs, PVC.s etc., but the 6 lead tracing will make it far easier to ACCURATELY diagnose the specific dysrhythmia. I'd also recommend printing the tracings to review with your personal physician rather than utilizing one of the subscription plans offered. I am a retired physician.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As an ER nurse, I am very familiar with EKGs. While this will never give you the true tracing that a real EKG would provide, as a home device it performs very well. There are variables that need to be remedied for the best outcome, like making sure the skin being contacted by the device is completely hairless, not dry, and that any movement or motion is eliminated as best as possible. That being said, it does give you 6 vantage points of electrical activity view which can give you a solid idea if anything is of concern. That being said, a little information can be a dangerous thing, and without the proper knowledge, could cause unnecessary concerns and anxiety about what is being seen on the screen. This is where their premium service with cardiologist consult can come in handy. Overall, I feel it is a solid device that delivers on its promises, and given it intended use and obvious limitations, can provide one’s own physician with some baseline info from which to start or maintain care of the uncomplicated cardiac patient, or general non-cardiac patient.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The readout depicts an EKG very similar to the EKG that is done in the office, except its 6 leads rather that a 12 lead EKG. Save it as a PDF, then email to your physician or show it at the next appointment. Subscription is not needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The six lead does provide more Information, but that’s not why it’s better. It’s better because it is far less prone to interference
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can't disagree with "RetiredDoc" who says a six lead is better. But I have seen occasional PAC's and PVC's on my rhythm strips. The advantage of a pdf rather than a paper strip is that the pdf can be magnified, making it easier to see some changes. You need a stable baseline. For the one lead recording, make sure the unit is on a level surface. I moisten my fingertips with water, which helps. For the six lead, I don't put the unit horizontally on my leg, because then it tends to wobble a bit side to side which spoils the recording. Put it vertically on your upper leg, so it lies flat and doesn't wobble.
