“How long does it take to charge? And how can you see if it is charged...tried hitting the power button and the plus sign, but nothing happens. Just got it yesterday”

It takes about 4 hours to charge . When you hook up the charging cord the power button on the unit will light up orange, when your unit is fully charged the orange light will turn off.

My wife charges hers more often, and it seems to only take an hour or thereabouts, when plugged into a wall outlet( a little longer, it seems, when plugged into a computer USB port) You can tell when it is charged, because the power button, which lights up when plugged in, needing a charge, will fade out. To increase the volume,(The + button), you have to have something, i.e.. cell phone etc. paired or plugged in to it. Your cell phone volume button will control the speaker volume. Also, to power the speaker on, you need to push and hold down the power button for about 2-3 seconds you will hear the speaker say "Powering on, welcome to Altec Lansing" Try suggested and you will really like the quality and versatility of your speaker.You may well end up with three or four of them in your home, as we have!!!! ENJOY!!!! ;)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.When my phone hooks up to the speaker a little battery symbol shows up next to my Bluetooth logo in the corner and it tells me how much power my speaker has. Hope that helps

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have 2 small and one larger one. Larger one doesn't charge over night. Plugged into wall with 2 amp USB charger. Sblue BB model. Use it two hours and it's dead. Smaller one's last longer.
