If your cable company uses their cable box, this won't work as the cable company communicates with their box to control what channels you get. This is mainly for broadcast channels received with a antenna.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the cable box has the option to output to the TV on channel 3 or 4, using the coax cable, then you could plug that coax cable in as the input to this DVR. This would allow you to use the DVR to record cable TV on channel 3 or 4, but would not allow you to switch cable channels. You would do that the normal way you change cable channels. So, it would work, but only in a limited way.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It will not decode the cable TV signal. It's designed to receive (with an attached antenna, not supplied) digital over-the-air broadcast signals only.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry, only works with over the air antenna signal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't tried it. But I can say even with a expensive antenna booster it didn't get me any reception in boron California. Had to get direct TV dish and the cable companies wouldn't set me up to my motor home even with a address. Bottom line we don't have free tv anymore. How's that for control of the media and your minds.
