There should be a water source behind your existing fridge. Otherwise, you will need a water hookup, similar to a laundry hookup for the water and ice.

My husband did ours and it was pretty simple. Our refrigerator is on a wall at a 90 degree angle from our refrigerator.

I will add that the plumbing for the water/ice already existed, but it is still along a different wall. I hope this information helps.
