Not a dumb question. The answer is it depends on the size of the books and what else is loaded onto your tablet. For books a tablet can be noticeably slower than a dedicated e-reader, and battery life will be shorter. Best of both worlds? Maybe, but also worst of both worlds. For as much time as you'd spend reading a book I find the 10" Fire too heavy to be held comfortably and too big to be conveniently portable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.32gb is 32 gb. The only thing that might make a difference is the Fire has preloaded apps that probably take up much of the 32 GB before you even add your own stuff. The Fire is also a lot bigger. The paperwhite is light and easy to bring with you anywhere.
